if the coolant level falls too far below the temp sensor the reading will not be correct. best to check under the rad cap cuz overflow bottle level could be misleading

the same thing appeared on a vfr i bought a few years ago, something proper maintenance would prevent.

OK but this guy was seriously WRONG to spraypaint inside the engine cases, which the honda factory did not do.

a full list of discontinued parts would scare you. 😂 used parts are nearly the only parts in the future.

not so messy as u might guess if you let the filter sit for 5 minutes before mounting it. no race engine builder would fail to pre-fill. the idea of running for a few seconds with zero oil pressure scares the crap outta me, and when working in a professional shop, i did hear rod knocks before pressure built up.

this rider gets extra points for pre-filling the oil filter, something i've always done on both bikes and cars.

Those fuel pumps lock up. If you do not hear it click its shot. Check to see if you have power and ground on the connector. You can also ohm it out check the service manual. You can get a new one on Aliexpress.
If you need any parts hit me up.
oh yeah, that chinese pump won't last long cuz it's just trash like 90%% of commie junk. always test pump by jumping the relay as relays fail more often than pumps. some locked up pumps can be revived by grasping the top of the plunger with pliers and pulling it up.

the subframes that the gauges mount to are different '86 to '87.

ok ......i got to work with grinder and files, sandpaper and polish to make that cheap-lookin stamped metal part look like a cast alloy part from italy. just a matter of rounding the edges and blending. (can't find my pix) takes hours but looks alot better than stock.

the #1 thing to avoid in oils is "energy saving".

anyone who can't deal with cleaning and rebuilding carbs and tuning them isn't gonna have the technical skills to custom design and install a fi system.......AND GET IT WORKING RIGHT.

Squirrelman, are you using feeler guages to sync the carbs, i wondered if that method would work. bog
negative, workable but not so exact.
-
^^^ dunno, haven't had any to work with.

after years of scientifik experimentation and research i can bench synch carbs to near-perfect accuracy without any need for gauges, and it costs nothing.
pm me for details.
