After my bike was knocked over in a car park, the arm holding the slider was bent to the point that it had nearly gone through the fairing …the bolts had stretched which was better than having them pull out and strip the thread as the bolts replace the original subframe fixing bolts
I got a set of DSG sliders from THURN motorsport from Gerhard in Germany and they’ve been tested in the same situation and they didn’t move, not cheap but worth it …. they’re also no cut, the bracket slots through the groove in the panel

The pieces I'm working with are way to small for any kind of staple. Just corners where fasteners go through. I've got some epoxy for plastic, but I don't think it's the 3m stuff. It's worked on other plastic repairs so I'm hopeful it works well here, if I can just figure out how to get all the pieces back where they are supposed to go.
1 mm thick ABS sheet makes a good skeleton to build on, I replaced a chunk of fairing with that as a working base .....ABS pipe cement for the win- 1

It amazes me that people still buy them

Yup. Guilty as charged, M'lud.
You can't seriously enjoy riding in these temps? It's like someone is stood in front of you with a huge hairdryer, blowing hot air all over you. Which is fine whilst yr a bit sweaty, but as soon as it's all evaporated, yr just left toasting.
You obviously haven’t ridden much in California ..... -
Finally got every rusted screw out with extractors or drilled out, removed the thermostat housing and the coolant stub out #3 cylinder then prised the f**king carbs off of the RC24 project bike, just as well #4 butterfly is jammed shut and the linkage disconnected

Those are DSG correct?
The long bolt is the first one you put in, the engine won’t fall out .... put some grease on it first
Then put the rear bolts in
Then torque the bolts upThe pad mounts bolt to the pear shaped bracket
The pads screw to the alloy mounts
Use an anti seize compound like Copper Slip on all the threads

Finally used up the tires that came on my 2014. 4444 miles surprised me they lacked feel and grip so much I figured they would last longer must have been less rubber than real tires.
OEM tyres are always crap, mine came with Dunlop’s put me right off using them again
Now Bridgestone T31’s, a fresh set will go on Tuesday

And if so, what to they attach to on the bike?
I have DSG frame protectors on mine, I got them through Gerhard THURN
The mounting is the long engine mounting at the front and the engine mounting bolt behind it, the Delrin blocks mount onto billet alloy blocks that come through the slot in the fairing

Nice looking bike ...those are DSG frame protectors yes?
-
That’s the step isn’t it?
Much involved in getting it off?
I’ve been looking at mine and thinking I might take it off and either get it plated or make a carbon fibre one as I’ll have it to make the mould from

I shipped some compound bows and associated archery kit to a charity in Sacramento recently and it was less than $100 US, so I put some approximate dimensions in UPS (700x150x450mm x 5kg) and the most expensive is £77.62 or $100, the cheapest is £45
There’s no import duty to the US
