  1. Captain, I'm drooling. The wheels, the case/coolant hose guards, the exhaust, clip-ons, and whatever you did to the clocks, just beautiful. What would you charge me to rent it for a month? 😎

    April Ride

Yes, Bluehawk, it does exist. Until about two years ago the Black Lightning Cafe was on 5th Street. It's rainy and foggy much of the time, very British.
  3. From the album: norcal

Only a few minutes from home.
  4. Yeah, stock gearing is sky high. I went to 15/41 ( I think stock is 16/40) which is just right for me. That bike is beautiful.
  5. Just wait. I'm setting you up to answer 273 stupid questions when I finally buy that 5th gen. (and Grum. Cogs, Terry...)
  6. Well, duh, I thought everyone knew that. 😉 Seriously, thanks Danno, your expertise is so appreciated. There are so many skilled and knowledgeable VFRD members, pretty awesome.
  7. I do love the Castrol livery--it looks great, and also it reminds me of the great Ducati/RC-51 battles in WSBK 20 years ago. And the two bikes in my garage!
  8. But Dutchy's getting close to the edge, one more sticker and that RC is a goner. We'll have to ask Colin Edwards for an expert opinion!
  9. BRP with my riding buddy Markus, chatting it up with a biker. Two 6th gens, tires still quite warm!
  10. New rubber! (disclaimer: this is not a VFR--but close!) Replaced the aging Pirelli Angel GT's with fresh Michelin Power 5's. Why are new tires so exciting? Aside from a 1000 mile 36-hour Sierra trip with some VFRD hooligans, I realized the RC-51's miles have all been local, dry, and track day, so I went for sportier rubber. Also, the rear is a 190/55, which I loved on my 7th gen, vs. the 190/50 Pirelli. First ride today, photos below. Took it easy, but felt great--easier roll-in and better bump compliance. Don't know about edge grip yet. And last but certainly not least, I also installed the performance part I've been searching for, finally found exactly the right one, bottom photo.
  11. Wow, garage looks great, we are all jealous. Needs more bikes though. Just put new rubber on the RC, will post a recent photo, but in the meantime, here's a photo--taken in January:
  12. Thought so, looked familiar. I agree, a great piece of equipment, makes it easy for one human to easily load and transport a bike. And it stands up on casters, using only maybe 7 or 8 sf of valuable garage space. Here's my 2003 Honda towing my 2003 Honda:
  13. Great trip, and nice write-up. Is that a Kendon one-bike trailer?
  14. Hi St. Stephen, Thank you for your donation of 25.00 USD. We look forward to improving the forums with your donation. Thanks VFRDiscussion
  15. As I understand it you purchased a VFR. A week later you again purchased a VFR. You're committed. Just make sure that suspension fits your weight and riding style. Jamie or Ohlins, can't go wrong.

    shop2

Thanks for getting a red Multistrada featured on VFRD! Beautiful shop.

    Crater Lake

I know that overlook! (see my ID pic) Before my senior year in high school in Eugene I took my very first overnight motorcycle trip. First stop was Crater Lake. Love it.

Great shot! Looks like just north of Jenner on 1, with Goat Rock, Arch Rock, and the Russian River mouth behind that great bike.
  19. I admit I did start laughing hysterically as soon as I read the title of the post! No offense meant to you, Voided, just a blast from the past as you know. It has been a hoot following SF and Duc's header thread, look forward to seeing your dyno runs, best wishes.

  21. That's great, it means I still own a V4! Loris and Randy, very cool, both looking good. I have to figure out how to get to Assen in the next few years. As great as Mugello?

    Peel's Ferry

What a fun trip. Leave KCMO, lunch in Springfield, some fun on 125 (finally some curves!), and then on to the Peel Ferry! (which is in Arkansas). Then...Push Mountain Road aka 341! Still one of my top five roads, anywhere.
  23. Thanks for posting the dyno chart, fun stuff. And it's reassuring to know that your windmills come in official Castrol colors.
