Looks like a great place for a ride. Amazing how much it resembles so much of the terrain in BC, Washington, Oregon, and California where I've toured.

That's true Lorne, particularly the southern half of the BRP, around Asheville. Although I grew up (mostly) on the east coast, and have been a Californian for the last eight years, my very first overnight motorcycle trip was Eugene OR (proud SEHS graduate!) to Crater Lake, to Coos Bay, at 17 years old. I do see some similarities.

  2. This was Rt. 175, looking southeast, near Clear Lake CA. The mountain is Mt. Konocti, a volcano by the lake. 175 was a great road but cold, and lots of gravel that day. No TC on the 2010 7th gen!

  3. What a fun trip. Leave KCMO, lunch in Springfield, some fun on 125 (finally some curves!), and then on to the Peel Ferry! (which is in Arkansas). Then...Push Mountain Road aka 341! Still one of my top five roads, anywhere.

  4. Lorne, you're right. I like both oreo and panda--this one almost looks like a police bike.

Thanks for reminding me of this trip. Phillip Island is such an amazing track, I will never forget seeing the pack come down the straight and going hard left through the southern loop.

Did you loose your machine with the tennies-color wheels. I've been considering copying you. Do I have your permission?

C'mon Max, focus on the incredible riding skill on display in the photo.
