  3. The fossils are in a marked protected area, must have a Guide to go in, ya book onto a tour. They really are something to see, we spent some time in there when we did Mt Stephen (took 2 attempts),(took only Photos). That was way back, but now there are multiple 24hr Surveillance Cameras broadcasting live to the Field Info Center. They have Arrested and Charged many for Theft. http://www.pc.gc.ca/eng/pn-np/bc/yoho/activ/burgess/visit/stephen.aspx Was in Field Wednesday, was Trailer Camping/Mt Biking/Hiking in the Banff/Lk Louise area for the week, got outa there before the Long Weekend Insanity. Its not an easy Hike,,.. Steep for about 45min to an Hour, and can be hard on the knees coming down. You can climb anything in the Rockies and find Fossils. But its High Season there now,,.. Traffic is Stupid, compounded by Construction. We'll go back there, but not till September.
  4. Staying in the US is a good idear. Faster Interstates and Cheaper Gas, specially in Montana, where even the smaller roads are posted 70MPH,,.. and the locals just consider that a Suggestion! Be Careful climbing the Switchbacks outa (northbound) Metaline Falls. The "pavement" is White,,.. cause there is a Cement Plant there thats been producing forever, and the surface is impregnated with cement dust. Its been polished smooth like a Concrete Parkade Garage Floor. I had a Front Tire slide on it going down, and the Rear slide out going up. But now that ya knows what its about, have some fun with it,,..
  5. So, you're gonna ride an Off-Species Bike instead? Well, if your bikes is sittin, in the parking lot, all by itself, in the middle of the night,,.. 7. You guys put your bikes somewhere for part of the year? Gawd. That's horrible! Yup, Hermetically Seal'd, for Your Protection. Bikes last twice as long, if ya only ride'em 1/2 the year. Plenty odder fun to do in the winter. " I can only have nightmares about me and my fat ass participating in this one! " If your Butt is Big Enough, you'll always WIN!
  8. Not riding yet, though the Jet Stream is being good to us this winter, also means not so much skiing. Still good for Fat Tire Biking,,.. Summer Dreams We'll be in Nelson same time as their Market Festival. Starts quietly with music in the water front park, Baker Street is Commandeer'd by Vendors, There is the fierce Hoola Hoop Competition, If its too much Excitement, you can walk the Calming Maze, Then there is the Group Hug, to exchange Beads, and Fleas,,.. If you gotta make that Kale & Quinoa Quiche for breaky, we're only a Block from the Kootenay Coop. Though these photos make Nelson look Granolish, its a beautiful place, all amenities. But Political Correctness has crept in. They deleted these Dangerous rides from the playground, Even I would ride them, With any luck, we'll be there for the Summer Sidecar Rally 2016 Kootenay Hootenanny (Book early for Sunrise Yoga Classes,,..)

  10. Beware of Anal Hiway Patrol between Republic & Kettle Falls. We were pulled over for doing 55mph in a 50. No one got a ticket, just wasted our time standing around in the hot sun, Nice road with nice curves. The ride north from Kettle Falls along the lake is beautiful, rember to watch the road. 2016 Nelson Kootenay Hootenanny Get your Commemorative Collectors Spork! (pick up only)
  11. Its 3600km from there to Calgary, or 3 days @ 12hr/day. Then you have to ride that back home,,.. wearing your bike out for nothing (some areas are nice).
