Soldering is the best connection you can do. It is also the only type of connection I would do to the three stator to RR wires. In fact, I got rid of all connectors in the charging system.

I find this hard to believe, try OS, from US or OZ. Actually, forget here, you will pay through your nose. Try Partzilla, that's were I got mine.

Also check your earth block, this could also play havoc with your charging system and should be upgraded ASAP..

Why? Were you thinking of just buying 1 Allen key? I know there is many opinions on this subject, but to me there is only one way of doing this properly. All that angst and guessing to save 10 minutes worth of wok removing the forks. Why bother? I did my apprenticeship under an old Polish bloke who used to drag me around the workshop by my ear when he caught me trying to take a short cut. He would say " What's this shagger? If you're going to do something, do it properly, if you're not going to do properly, don't do it " and then give me a kick up the arse for my troubles. I now see he was right. Pull them out and you get to clean them properly, inspect everything, add whatever oil height you want with both forks done accurately, and know that everything went in the way it was and torqued correctly. By the way, when I was using the stock 01 forks with 0.95 springs and rebound and compression gold valves, I found 110mm of 7.5 oil was the best setting for me.

I've installed the GSXR 600 plug packs with CBR wiring and connectors. Got them both for under AU$50 from eBay 25000km's ago without a problem. I've ridden in torrential downpours on long trips without a hiccup. Used the CBR connectors as the wiring is the same colour as the VFR. This is a great mod that is cheap and easy to do. You lose a lot of weight and junk from around the air box.

The 6th gen has a 16T as standard, 5th gen have 17T. Not sure I would go a 15T as it makes the angular velocity very high. Better off adding 2 teeth to the rear.

I've toyed with the idea of replacing the factory ones for a while. Has anybody tried the Dzus type ones? Not sure how well they grab and.

When I installed the GSXR COP's on my 5th gen, I had to drop the idle speed as it was slightly higher then before. All up it took me an hour to do, and has been running great for 20000K's. Definitly lost around 0.5k in weight up high, and made more space/less clutter. I think people are way over thinking this, its not rocket scince. The 5th gen has 4 coils, so it has 4 trigger wires, one wire per COP. I did it because I wanted to. Every car and bike now has COP's, because they are better. Same as DOHC, FI, 4 valve heads. Welcome th the 21st century.

No need to remove reeds. I agree, I left them as they seem to seal better with them in.
