  1. Dang, seeing your pic makes me really miss my Hawk 647GT! And we have the same grey color too! Are those CBR1000 bars on it? That's a mod that I did to my Hawk too. Loved that bike so much, had some of the greatest fast rides ever in the twisties with it!....maybe I loved it even more than my present VFR(?).

BTW, a Telefix fork brace will do wonders to improve the handling even more.

  2. The painjob nicely brightens up the bike. as the red 4th gens look particularly dark compared to most other bikes

How do you like your Coerce fork brace? I hope you also feel the improvement on compliance and stability as I do with mine! :fing02:

I do have to admit that some parts of the bike do look "Spiffy". but the last slap on the face from the DN-01 is it's ridiculous $14K price in the US. Can you say "Discontinued in 2010!!"??

  3. Beautiful! Makes me want to go out and buy a 4th gen to do the same thing.

If you look closely, that bike seems to be a collection of 3rd and 4th gen VFR parts put together. Notice the bike frame side plates from the 3rd gen. The front brake discs and rear wheel are definitely 4th gen items though, plus the Naca/NR750 style fairing too, of course.

  4. Very nice. The tail cowling being painted black/red is different, but looks stealthy. It would blend in really nice w/ a tank bra. What are you using for wax/polish? The paint finish looks swirl-free. Sweet high mount pipe.

    Thanks for the compliments!

Spray polish = Lemon Pledge man! Been using it on the bike since 95 when I got it. Much better than any polish out there, including Honda's own spray polish, IMO. And it's cheap too. I also try to clay bar the paint every year to keep it nice and glossy.

  5. Damn! doesn't the 4th gen still look really good even after 13 years  .

Reminds me of one night, about ten years ago when my 4th gen literally made a couple of guys do a big U turn walking on the sidewalk and telling me out loud that my bike was the best looking bike they ever saw in their lives. The big group of men and women that was with them followed them back to my bike and all agreed. How do I ever decide to replace my 4th gen, I guess, I might never know??

Thanks for posting such a great shot of your 4th gen!

Thanks for all the praises guys! All compliments should be passed on to Honda for making such a beauty of a bike to start with. Without a good base to start with, you cannot come up with the same results.

All the other brand contemporaries certainly have not aged well compared to our fourth gen VFRs. VFRs are all easily modern classics!

    Keep those fourth gens rolling!

    Thanks,

Nah, haven't done any racing at all. Just mostly fast rides through the mountain twisties on weekends and days off.

All late model VFRs aren't really suited for tuning and racing. Not enough power, soft suspensions and too much weight. You got the RC30 and 45 for that.

  6. Staintune high right side slip-on pipe. Very popular with a lot of VFR owners. Got it more than 5 years ago when they first started selling the brand in the US. Look up "CBT imports" in the web. I think they are still the US Distributors for the brand form Australia. Dunno how much they are these days, but I think it cost me about 500 dollars back then,OTR.

Some find it a little loud if you take offthe removable tip baffle "spud", but I like the sound. Some compare the unbaffled sound to a small block V8 race engine. Very high quality pipe with high polish finish and flawless welds. :)
