I've been thinking about vanity plates for the VFR. Maybe next year.
By the way you'll have to put that halloween picture on hotornot.com - you'll have to carry a stick to keep all the women away with a picture like that. :laughing6-hehe:
-
That looks like soooo much fun! Hearing those little dirt bikes and scooters whine is so hilarious.
Love the tunes, too - Monster Magnet!
-
Touching sentiment. I too have met some outstanding humans riding bikes, especially the VFRD crowd.
And you're stating the obvious the highlight of every summer journey is always us, Canadians ;)
Good to see you again this summer. Hope to see you next summer in Nelson.

Good post. Eastern Oregon certainly has it's own unique type of beauty. The Shaniko to Fossil section is a bunch of fun.
-
The red and white looks really sharp. I like the powdercoated under-bits! Although, I'm not sure I'd want to keep them clean ;)
It'll look like, and ride like, a new bike when you're done.

great post. i loved that road when i was there. what an awesome view from the top. you may want to warn the flatlanders that they will likely feel a bit altitude sick if they haven't acclimatized. i was up there for about 20 minutes and felt exhausted and sick. the other interesting things is my bike was struggling with the altitude and wanted to die - first time the l'il VFR had any issues.

enjoyed seeing your pics. i guess we get spoiled in alberta with highway 40 and lake louise/banff (dude, it's banff, not banif - ;)). really had a good time with you guys last year. hope to meet you again at a meet in the future, miguel.
take care,
mike

looks pretty swish! it's amazing how much these little cleanups and a few replacement parts make to the appearance of the bike. nice job.
-
Great post guys. Darren, nice new bike - that red colour is smashing.
Now if you could just get rid of that ridiculous ventura rack system - UG-LY!
Take some of that money you have left and buy the honda luggage. ;)
-
great pics! looks like you had a blast at the event. some crazy looking bikes/scoots and people too!
-
stunning photos, miguel.
the colours in the fall are absolutely gorgeous. that old bridge keystoned into the rock is pretty cool too. now i'm thinking - 'hmmm, maybe i need an offroad bike too....'

Sounds like a fantastic deal, Tim.
I talked to a guy the other day that got a $26,000 BMW from a wrecker in Quebec for $6,000. The damage was purely cosmetic but insurance refused to pay out the repairs, so it was written off. It cost him only $3,000 to replace plastic, a fairing support and headlight. Pretty good deal in my opinion, if you can find it.
Did i mention the bike only had 400km on it? Crazy good deal.

wow, great pics - really fast shutter on the last one - you can even see the tread on your front tire.
sounds like a fantastic day and a lot of fun. must be cool to be one of the first riders to test out a newly renovated track.

i went through there this summer from vernal to the flaming gorge and beyond. the part from vernal to the bridge over the damn is lots of fun, lots of uphill switchbacks. fun fun!
-
i was through there in august, what a fantastic ride up the pass. didn't realize that i'd start feeling loopy because of the altitude! mt. evans is awesome too.
-
i thought i was the only one who had the debate - "so, what do you want to eat?" with a reply "i don't care, where do you want to eat?" must be a universal. haha.
-
great write up. great pics. i'll be retracing a lot of your path, only in the opposite direction, in 2 weeks. crazy canucks down there at the races, eh? once you start saying 'eh' you'll be hooked and could probably pass for a canadian. ;)

cellphones so convenient, extremely annoying. i thought it was common courtesy to hangup your phone when you were in public places. i see this all the time, someone makes it to the front of the line only to get a call on their cellphone and tell the clerk - "sorry, can you hold on a minute." to the person in front of them. really rude.
there should be a course on phone ettiquette, a mandatory one, before you're allowed to take the phone from the store.
as for a-holes riding a VFR, guess there has to be one bad apple in the bunch.

Good pics! Ride while you can. Days are numbered here, too.
