  1. I have a silver 2003 VFR with the factory bags, so it was neat to project myself into your story. Like this Quote Ya.. me too, Silver was swift and could pack a load, typically 6 weeks worth of gear for my annual Yukon explorations.
  2. That turbo housing directly under the saddle should make for some great heat during cold weather rides ....warm days ummmmm maybe some asbestos underwear would help keep the family jewels from baking... I had lots of experience with turbo charging while racing my '87 Buick GN (4.1Stage 1) ..under the hood heat was very high, and eventually I found a thermal blanket/shroud that fit like a glove over the casting, plus I applied thermal wrap tape over the inlet and exhaust pipes...caution with any wrappings on the pipes ....check under the wrapping often as the thermal tape holds moisture against the pipes and can ruin them quickly ...not so much of problem on the turbo housing as the casting is less prone to corroding through. Ceramic coatings for heat shielding have come a long ways, are very efficient and visually much neater. Great project you are doing ... are dyno tests in the budget ??
  3. +++1 on that ....regardless of what people think about mutha honda ...they are light years ahead of anybody else in designing their engines and engine management systems... or ..if aint broke, don't fix it

  5. Lets take "brand names" and personal preferences out of the "who makes the best oil filter" and following the you tube clip, base choice on specific performance characteristics.
  6. So you have another missile for NORAD to track.....NICE!!! Do you have an intercooler loop in your design? and is there circuitry in the EC you are using to accommodate and control nitrous oxide as in one nozzle in the intake plenum or multiples And a suggestion for extending your turbo chargers life ( a lesson I learned in owning 2 hi perf turbo cars) ..install a post engine shut off lube system...even though your crank isn't turning, the turbo can still be spinning at 10k rpm at shut down...without pressurized oil to lube it. here is just one of many available kits .non specific for m'cycles. http://www.autoenginelube.com/prepostlubekit.html Good luck with your very advanced development ..

    35 Going to the Sun

Sure enuf.. one of the better bits of scenery in the PNW..loved the ride on Going TTS, but I ended up up in the RV train, moving at a snails pace for a long part of the trip...lesson learned.."pick your days in off season to avoid the blue haired cage driver pulling 30ft fifth wheels"

Dandy in town RV and campsites in Skagway..a few minutes walk to downtown.

Some of the 50 or more bikes on the cardeck of Columbia sailing out of Skagway to Bellingham WA
  10. Yup..like Skagway a lot. The downhill bobsled run into town is very nice...Odd coincidence..on my ride up to Dawson City in mid June, I met up with a USAF weapons tech on a KTM...riding out of Tuscon to his old home town Fairbanks.. So no more shovelling snow for you now !!!
  11. Getting ready to Ride to Dawson YT for 2014 D2D gathering. First time on the Viffr, ..previously on KLR. Planning to avoid looses gravel and road repairs on the Al-Can via levitation.

  12. I am staying tuned into Hvgans science project. Also..my family is on red alert to large spolsions in the Florida area. Sure hope he nails an electronic fix...seeing as I have the identical Escort unit.
