  1. Diagnosticians are a dying breed. We're the last generation of them.
  2. My favorite track. I hope to ride there some day! Do you have any videos with the camera up a bit so we can see?
  3. This site is pretty great. Thank you. I normally donate in December. Is there a better way for you? I'm sure that you've thought of all of this, but have you considered charging to join? 100 people at $25/each would cover expenses, using what I think you typed above. We have a lot more than 100 active members, don't we? Like everyone, I love free things, but am also happy to contribute to something worthwhile, like this site. Thanks again.
  4. Who stumbles around rotaries? AI is getting better, Jameessmith.
  5. I wish that spam posts would only show with actual addresses so that local folks could pay a visit.
  6. My 98 is relatively "normal" but my '00 runs warmer and gets there faster.
  7. Certified mechanics are the worst. Either way...a new owner has to go through all of the systems. It's the only way to be sure. 🙂 (I watched my Subaru dealer mechanic bleed my brakes. He sucked out fluid from the master, refilled with new fluid, pumped the brakes, and gave it back to me. Oh, brother...)
  8. Not sure about your idle issues, but using vinegar on metals can make them rust after. Why not just use a proper coolant system cleaner? I've been using Prestone for a few years with superb luck in the bikes and cars. It comes in a few sizes and it is dirt cheap. No matter what you use, be sure to thoroughly flush it out before refilling with the proper coolant/H2O ratio. https://prestone.com/product/prestone-total-cooling-system-cleaner/ https://www.walmart.com/ip/Prestone-Total-Cooling-System-Cleaner-22-oz/35764365
  9. My sarcasm never seems to come through. If you can type notes here, Try typing similar in Google. 🙂
  10. It is a highly personal decision. It isn't a sport bike, but I've had mine at many track days and it does just fine. As you likely know, much of that is down to the rider. Comparing specs, IMHO, isn't going to be worth much either, as you can change so much, from power to ergonomics, and even weight if you really wanted to. I'm comfy running around on mine, two up, full knee down mode, and it never hiccups or complains, and that's on sport touring rubber. What else have you ridden, on track and off?
  11. You may be leaning on the right bar harder, creating countersteering, and steering right.
  12. Absolutely. The other ways all suck. lol Completely unrelated is this tire, which developed a slight leak on Wednesday while I was riding the CB-1... I really needed the '00 to work well yesterday in the mountains!
  13. to this day, it is the only bike I've slid both wheels on while going round a fast speed turn.
  14. If I had the money and space... https://charlotte.craigslist.org/mcy/d/clermont-1988-yamaha-fzr1000/7726358462.html
  15. In my business we call VTEC on a bike a solution without a problem. You guys can have and love them, but I'm sticking with VFR tradition. lol
  16. I have now gotten a few local rides and 165 miles in the mountains on it. It is like a different bike. Completely rideable with just a few little niggles I'll probably get to eventually. I'm embarrassed at the time wasted (yours and mine) by looking at shock length and sag but not ride height. I should know better, despite the "same" model...
  17. I have very little to add. My 5th gen is superb, as was the 5th gen before it. The 6th gen I rented nearly got thrown in the ocean the VTEC was so bad. In my mind, there's no comparison.
  18. Where have you looked...or do you want us to do that for you?
  19. I really need to get my spare wheels painted white. Maybe this will be the year. They look so good against the yellow.

  22. That sucks. It might be worth making something to go under the stand that makes it flat/level, then just lever it onto the center from side stand securely...then up!
  23. Sorry to hear about this. Is the surface in the garage uneven?
  24. I have this strong desire to mess with the lock nut. Is this a don't cross the streams kind of thing? 🙂
