  1. Custer is my choice, about the same distance for us. Always looking to see new things. Ultimately, no matter where it is held, it'll be great to see the northern group again. I can't vote on my phone so I'll log in tonight when I get home and cast my ballot.

  2. I have a new 8th gen. being assembled from the crate tomorrow. The new 8th gen. calls for 10W-30 in it. Is there any reason 10W-40 motorcycle specific would hurt anything? 10W-30 sounds awfully thin for someone like me that rides hard in hot weather. What are you other 8th gen. owners using?

Mobil 1 4t 10-40. No problems, and can tell no difference. IMO it all boils down to epa mandate for fuel economy
  3. I just sent Keith an email for some parts but it got kicked back.Anyone know if he's still there?I haven't ordered from him in about a year so maybe he's moved on.

Just spoke with Keith 2 days ago to order a few parts. He is still there. Great guy, he has always taken good care of me.

  4. Just ordered the TAG risers OP used, Renthal 755 bar in black, and Oberon 14mm bar ends. Hopefully I do not need extended cables due to buying the 755 instead of the 756.

Where did you find the risers at? Been considering doing this instead of the Speiglers on my wife's 07 but using OE handlebars.

  5. By the time I noticed this thread it was too late to get in on the special run... any chance that there may be more made? I'm sure that at least 10 more sets would sell if you did another run since it seems like some peope who bought them would want a second set.

Should we start a new thread to see who signs up for a set? You can count me in for at least one set...

    :)

I would contact Dan directly. He may have a few sets left. If not you might be able to talk him in to running another batch. His contact information is on his website.

  6. Any update?

Shot Dan an e-mail a couple of days ago. All 20 sets he was making up are sold. He has started the process and said he would update us as he went through the steps. Will let you guys know when I hear anything else from him.

Sold as in they are being shipped now?

No, they are not being shipped yet. These were a special run because Dan did not have any in stock and he wasn't even sure he was going to make anymore. He agreed to make a batch of 20 if the interest was still there. The thread was started to find out if it would be worth his while. It only took a few days to get enough members to ask for a set for him to agree to do this. All of the 20 sets have been sold to members. He ordered the materials to fabricate them and started getting the tooling set up to make them after he saw the interest was still there. He stated it would take about 4 weeks to be ready to ship so he should be getting close. As soon as I hear from him I will let everyone know where he is at with the project.

  7. I just ordered the Sigma kit for my wife. After speaking with them about their lowering link I feel confident that it is just as strong and durable as the OE if not even better. It is machined slightly larger than the OE. It is made from the same materials. It is also just a bit shorter in length which should take some stress off the center of the link (the longer an item is the easier it is to bend due to leverage). Just my thoughts.

  8. To the original 15 on the list. Dan got with me today to let us know that the material is ordered and he is setting up the machine work. Should be about 4 weeks to get them done and in our hands. He is making 20 sets and they are 1st come 1st served. The reason that I state that is I know there have been a few members show interest in them after the list stopped. I would hate to see anyone miss out on them.

  9. Is there a difference between blocking off the PAIR valve & just disconnecting the PAIR wiring connection on the 6th Gen? or do you have to do both?

You don't have to do both. I think most just use the marble trick to plug the pair hoses. Plates just make it look better as you can ditch the whole system.

  10. Ok guys. I just called today and got my 2 sets ordered. Dan said the faster everyone on the list calls him and gets their order placed the faster he can get the materials and get started. So please, give him a call so we can get this going. He was going to get the machining part of the process set up after I got off the phone with him today so the ball is definately rolling now.
