  1. The 3rd gen is becoming an iconic motorcycle,  a clean, beautiful design that just has a certain "something".  Unfortunately all too rare these days - I fear many have met an unnecessary demise to sacrifice their 8 spoke wheel. That is s beautiful example.

  2. I've always had a love / hate relationship with my 2008 for that very reason.  Sometimes in the right light it looks great - at other times it seems so drab.  I've never figured out why.  But that's just me.  I do like that is not a "look at me" color - kind of like being a bit off the radar.

    Where is that? :fing02:

On US Hwy 12 just east of Kooskia, ID (locals pronounce it "Koosky") looking East - link, below.  Hwy 12 is a National Scenic Highway which follows the Lochsa River, the route Lewis and Clark took in 1804.  There are many interpretive sites along the way.  Hwy 12 is pure bliss - it goes through wilderness area, so no businesses, no residences or road intersections - just 100 miles of fast sweepers.  It's almost like they designed the road with us in mind.  The biggest potential hazard is deer. There's only one place for gas along the way to Lolo and it's off the road. If you miss the sign to turn off you're S.O.L.   It's a beautifully engineered road with good pavement.  It almost makes me want to live in Lewiston, ID or Missoula, MT just so I could ride it anytime I want.  Everyone should ride it at least once.

My photo of pass summit (the other end) looking West in 2006.  They have since changed it from "77 miles" to "99 miles" even though the road has not changed.

  4. That's the Hite Crossing Bridge in the background on UT-95 (for those interested, Google Maps link below).   This view is on the North side of the Colorado looking East.

When I came through there a cop was making a traffic stop at the turnout at the base of the outcrop on the right.  Sort of ruined the moment for me.

We are so blessed in North America to have these epic landscapes in CO, UT, AZ, MT, WY ID, Eastern OR and CA to ride through.  Not only great roads, but spectacular other worldly landscapes that even the movies couldn't make up.  Even though it's tempting to "pour on the coal" through these places, I try to take it easy at times to soak in the scenery - it's just too good to pass up.  Time for another road trip!  Come on vaccine . . . !  :woohoo:

A 25,000 ton or thereabouts train going even 40mph must do to a deer / elk, etc what a car does to an insect  . . .  There's probably on occasion some gruesome cleanup back at the yard!

That . . . is the best cover photo I've seen in a v*e*r*y long time.  If by "better at it" you mean be better at photography, it can't be by very much because you are superb - that is an awesome shot.
