I used the small magnet on the left to place the shim on the valve stem, and the larger one in the middle to remove the bucket. It's a flashlight with telescopic, gooseneck head. The ring around the lens is magnetic. It's just a bit smaller than the diameter of the bucket.-

Here are the cam holders and buckets from the front intake camshaft removed and stored in an egg carton to keep things straight. -

Front intake camshaft removed. I used the flashlight on the right to remove the buckets. It is telescopic with a gooseneck and a magnetic ring around the lense. -

I installed mine into a small hobby box and carry it in the map window of my tank bag so that takes care of the waterproof issue. It's a non-permanent installation as it connects with an SAE (trailer) plug.But back to the original topic, very nice install by the OP.

I secured it with a longer 6x30 bolt and lock washer. The threaded stud is just there now to prevent it from rotating. Seems secure enough but I havent completed the repairs yet. I bought the VFRness, r/r and stator from WireMyBike. Unfortunately I also had to use the included starter relay connector kit too.

New Rick's r/r. The threaded stud on the frame is too short. And requires longer bolt than the original. -
