Sweet looking 4th gen. Always jealous of those with uncracked tail fairings.

  4. Good idea DH! I picked up a spare too for my journey back from the coast. Made it home without needing to use it. ;-)

  6. It's raining in Kaslo right now but the forecast looks good for the weekend. Have a safe ride and see you tomorrow.
  7. Just a heads up that there is road construction from the Slocan Valley (Hwy 6) junction for 15 km to Nelson. Half the road is grooved and it's alternating single lane with 20 minute closures. So my plan is to meet you guys Saturday morning at the breakfast place. Sorry I will miss the Friday meet and greet but I will attend the Saturday dinner.
  8. Just wondering if you've ever considered making an adapter plate to fit the Solo Rack to a 4th gen. Which model do you think would be the better candidate? I can send you pics of the 4th gen handle mounts if that would help.
  9. Hi auggius, Thank you for your donation of $25.00. We look forward to improving the forums with your donation. Thanks VFRDiscussion
  10. I haven't been to Idaho Peaks yet but I've been to the Buchanan Lookout a couple of times on my DR350. Here's a couple of teaser pics:
  11. Too bad you have to wait till July for the Hootenanny. My friend and I (a VFR 2000 rider) did the loop from starting in Balfour, east side of the lake to Creston, Salmo, Castlegar, New Denver and Kaslo yesterday. Beautiful weather and little traffic. And what traffic we encountered magically parted or turned off as we came up to them. I don't have pics, but it happened!
  12. It's raining today in Kaslo but it's been nice the last few days. Yesterday we put up the tennis nets and got out for a hit. That was good since I missed the last month of hockey due to a sprained knee. Pruned 4 apple tree- more to do still.I haven't insured the bike yet but there are a few riders out there. I saw a Ducati Multistrada rider in town the other day but it's hard to look cool riding through downtown with your blinker on. And then I heard a pack of 3 sport bike riders take off on the highway just below my house. BTW there's a local controversy about loud motorcycles with a petition circulating to have the RCMP enforce existing noise laws. Which won't be a problem with the Hootenanny because we're all riding on quiet, stock mufflers, right?
  13. Cool to see so much interest in riding in the Kootenays. Though that was one of the reasons we moved here. :-) I pointed this thread out to my VFR riding buddy who lives in Balfour (i.e. near the ferry) and he may join us if the dates work out for him. He's a member but not really active.

  16. I haven't read the whole thread but have the 8th gen mirrors been considered?
  17. Something like this perhaps.... http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.php/topic/19224-not-another-5g-undertail-exhaust/#entry218679

  19. There is one on VFRWorld classifieds too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Here's an 8-spoker but it's attached to a '94 with extras. http://www.kijiji.ca/v-sport-touring/hamilton/1994-honda-vfr-750-w-extras/1060451157?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true It's actually one of the better RC45 paint jobs I've seen on a 4th gen. And it has a left exit exhaust but curiously no pictures of that side of the bike. Or maybe owner has just removed the exhaust for the photo as it still has the centrestand, which would interfere with a LEE.
  21. I always find it funny that someone would post to eBay, the most global site known to man, and yet the only option is local pickup. Kinda limiting their audience. And then you have companies in the US that won't ship to Canada. I don't understand that. They package it, pay postage. What difference where it's going as long as the customer is paying for the shipping cost.
  22. So are there a bunch of 5th gen wheels out there just collecting dust and available for cheap?
