Yes. I had that done way back Sep 23 2010 when the bike had 9691 KM on it (actually was 109619 KM it had already rolled) That was a little pricey. $472.94 P&L But again, I believe that is maintenance. Things do wear.

Nothing to sweat my friend. Regular maintenance and you are good to go. But. You should expect to replace your stator at least once and the regulator onece or twice. But that is maintenance as far as I am concerned..

From the album: 34468 Randy's ride

Passed the 200,000 km mark (124,000+ miles) a couple weeks ago on the freeway near Langley BC. Stopped for a picture. Should have brought some champagne. At least a bottle of beer. Been a very good bike to me but then, it is the only bike I have owned. Lost my bike riding virginity to this bike in AUgust 2006 when I bought it still in the crate. Salesman had to ride it to my house cause I had never ridden a bike u0p to that point and was not about to learn riding it home. Treated Missy to a new air filter (K&N became landfill) fresh oil change and coolant flush. I am sure it will make 300,000 km but whop knows if I will.
  4. I see through rose coloured glasses too. And I don't have any glasses! Kick stand is just about up.
  5. I think I am all packed and ready to head out in the morning. Seems there will only be two of us departing from TH kickstands up at 09:00. We could see a drizzle for part of the ride. Which reminds me. Treat visor with Rainex. Been a while for that.
  6. You should have seen the looks we got when the wife and I were travelling in the UK. I would get ahead of her and she would yell out quite loudly. "RANDY!" The tour guide would just whisper to her, "Madam....please!"
  7. Awe common! He just wanted to check out the graphics. We had a nice chat. Now them guddam photo radar cameras of Saskatchewan...they are buggas.
  8. The only one who ever called me Randall was my mom. And only when she was really mad at me. This was more often that I would like to admit.
  9. It just never ends. Just got home from a vacation from hell. Problems with the trailer, the truck, tires on the trailer. Storms, rain, mud and all. Over $1500.00 in repairs alone between the truck and trailer. Pulled into the house here at home and opened the front door. House smelled like a rendering plant. Refrigerator had stopped. Probably the day after we left four weeks ago. Repair man came tonight. Now we need a new fridge. Big ass pile of mail on the table. One was from Moose Jaw Police Service in Saskatchewan. A fooken photo radar ticket. THREE HUNDRED AND SIXTY GUDDAM DOLLARS! I was kinda happy about coming back home with a couple hundred cash still in my pocket but that is gone for sure now. Good this this trip is pre-paid. I need the ride to clear the Red River Gumbo from my head.
  10. You know, Choco...couldn't resist that one, I have heard about that place from another source also. Someday I will try to get there.
  11. LMD Riders I mentioned earlier I would get back to you guys with the possibility of a group from here riding together. Reading through a lot of this and it seems people are going various ways which is fine. Each has their own wants and wishes. According to Google Maps, it is about 6h 15m from Chilliwack to Nelson. SO any of you who are interested in meeting in Chilliwack we can ride as a group from the Time Horton's at 45793 Luckakuck Way. Careful. There are two Timmies within a block of each other this one is right next to the Best Buy and Superstore. It is less busy than the one near the Shell. So. If you are interested, we can use this as a starting point. Kickstands up at 09:00. A full tank from Chilliwack should get us to Princeton and we can take it from there. No one leading the pack, just firing the starting pistol. Ride your own ride but give or take, we should stay relatively close to each other to help out if any of us runs into difficulties. Trouble with the law? You are on your own. This should have us rolling into Nelson 4 - 5 pm. Randy
  12. A topic for discussion over beers at the pub Saturday night...or maybe not. The proprietor of that event can tell the tell.
  13. Yes Deer! The funniest thing is this was the beginning of Bow season in Oregon. Some bow hunters came by to lend us a hand in the bike recovery. They found the deer, and tagged it. I always thought eating road kill was just a well used joke. Well, I was sure wrong that way. But if it were not for them, we would never have gotten that bike out of the deep deep ditch it went into much like films of those Calvary racing their horses down deep river banks in those old black and white dusters. My last signature stamp has now disclosed meanings
  14. The BBQ sounds nice but I believe it would be a pain in the ass seeing as we are traveling on bikes. Considering we are all arriving at different times, I suggest that we just meet at the bar and order off the menu there as we arrive. So basically I vote #2. With a thorough cleansing of the hands afterward.
  15. I hope this fuel shortage due to the Ft. McMurray fire sorts itself out before this trip. Yesterday when I was riding to Merritt and back, Merritt was out of Regular gasoline at some stations. I think at this point it is more the Shell and Petro Can stations who are most affected. Maybe someone who lives in the area can keep and eye on that.
  16. Speaking of noise. Three of us went out for a ride up the canyon past Boston Bar. I waited to join them when they arrived in Agassiz. While waiting there, probably a dozen screaming loud drifter cars drove by over a period of a few minutes. Talk about noise. Then out in the canyon, we were fortunate enough to get stuck in the middle of a group of about 10 harleys. Even with ear protection in, the noise from them was awful. Then get a bunch of them idiots in a tunnel, well, that was down right defining. I think we will be fine so long as we don't race around like a bunch of teenagers who have OD'd on Spanish fly.
  17. I'm not quite sure just when we return home from our RV trip to Winnipeg so timing for an earlier departure will likely be an issue. I can stretch the return by one day but July 26 is my anniversary. If I miss this years, then last years would be my last.
  18. I don't know what the fug happened there but I will try again. I would like to do the extra day but will have to decline the Duffy Lake Road portion of the trip. If I had not already paid for this trip, I probably would not be going due to other things that have arrived on my scene. Besides, I am arriving back here from Winnipeg only a couple days before this trip so my time is also going to be in demand. I will still post up for those who want to ride out the Friday. Jeff. I am older than you so I guess I am more stubborn or too senile to notice it is a long ride. OH! I forgot. You now ride a guddam triumph.......
  19. Oh well. I guess so. We can have you tag along. I will post up meeting place and time a week before hand.
  20. Just so that those who are not in the know, do know, this seems to be more directed at Harleys with the baffles cut out. But, there are some of our type bikes that are modified to make them louder. That is still illegal and enforceable. The decibel reading has nothing to do with the charge. Section 7A.01 Motor Vehicle Act Regulations covers that. Create Unnecessary noise and that is an offense. Deliberately doing something to your bike to make more noise is unnecessary. Screaming along the roadway maintaining near red line, is not necessary. Much the same as squealing your tires in your Camaro. Same thing. Just a heads up to everyone. I am not debating this.
