  1. Regarding riding in hot weather, I always wear an Aerostich Transit Suit, full Goretex-lined, and describe it as "Wearing a sauna while sitting on an oven." Lately I'm finding I like living so close to the Artic Circle.
  2. A beautiful machine in a great setting. I love RA.
  3. Yes. From behind it looks like the north end of a south-bound cow.
  4. That is one fine looking machine. So sleek and aerodynamic.
  5. Bought in 2014 with 10,700 miles on her. Empty trailered to Virgina, bought from a pole barn, hauled to T-Mac where we found a rodent nest in the air box. (A pic was taken but I cannot find it). Too many upgrades to list but simply love this machine.
  6. What happened to your Real Helmet? The one that saves one's jaws when one hits the road after hitting a deer.
  7. Check out this guy for that rock solid in the turns experience: http://daughertymotorsports.com/ He upgraded my forks and installed a rebuilt high-quality rear shock for about $1,000. Transformed the experience! Steering now is nearly telepathic. He set it up for my weight and riding style. Set the sag, rebound, etc. Being retired with lots of time on my hands hauled my fifth gen to him Indianana, but I believe you can send him your parts or he'll send you the things to DIY.

Aaaah, just the kind of sign we love to see. Great looking machine.
  9. Welcome to the asylum hoodoshnik. Great looking machine. You obviously have great taste in mc's.
  10. Petarm, welcome to the asylum. We'd love to see a picture of your machine to prove you are not a figment of our imagination. May I suggest you check your steering head bearings. Every one of my five fifth gens needed them, some with as little as 25,000 miles on the odo. Replace with tapered roller bearings. To check them, with the bike on the centerstand and the front end off the ground (I put a foundation brick on my pillion) slowly move the forks from lock to lock. If you detect a detent in the center, the bearing are shot. Good luck with your R&R and ride safe.
  11. I think there is a short metal backing piece under the chain guard, nearly impossible to see or reach into which the screw goes. I'll have to go out and have another look but I remember having a heck of a time getting that attached in the past. I'll update later.

Beautiful. It's a whiteout. Or, rather, a black- and whiteout.
  13. What did you say? Speak up please. I CAN'T HEAR YOU. Wise move.
  14. Ooooh! So Shiny! Beautiful. And with a high-mount!
  15. Thank you Billv45. I'm reaching for my wallet as I type. This would be a perfect self-gift with my COVID money. edit: I ordered my own yesterday. I can't wait to get my butt up off the garage floor. Thank you Billv45 for the inspiration.

  17. Oh man! Those pesky Carter Vents. and It's Always Somthing.
  18. Holy Socks! I need one of those. Could you elaborate on how the machine attaches to the lift? Working on my machines on the garage floor is a real pain in the rear, and everywhere else, for my 71 yr. old body. BTW: That is quite the fine looking machine and in the fastest color. You obviously have great taste in mc's.
  19. Congratulations Dutchy! She's looking quite fabulous for an elderly lady. Good work.
  20. Very Sharp! the red really shows off the spokes.
  21. That is a fabulous looking quiver of mc's you've got there Dutchy.
