The same thing happened to me earlier this year. Wearing a tennis shoe instead of my usual boots, the sidestand did not get deployed in time. Broke to bones in my foot under the cowl. Sucks the hind-tit bog water big time. (blush)

I also have a useful-farmer-to-the-rescue story: (I cannot remember exactly where it happened but it was on the way home from a Sum-Sum gathering in CO.) It was late in the day and there was a camping sign on the highway directing my up a certain road (no distance information given). So I head that way and ran out of gas before I got to the campground. A family heading home came up behind me and asked if I needed help. This was in the middle of nowhere in the dark. I explained I was just out of gas. So mom gets out of the van and says she’ll push me to their farm just up the road (on her feet, not with her vehicle). I reluctantly agreed (she explained she was a high-mile runner and it would be no problem for her). By the time we got to there place it was late; I pitched my tent in their yard and everyone went to bed. When I got up they invited me in and fed me a nice breakfast, filled my tank from their on-site tank (5.55 gallons) and would not take any money for the help. I thanked them profusely and heading on my way. Talk about a Good Samaritan!

That is a very useful bit of information which should reduce the chance of it happening. Did you meet any nice people providing help? When that has happened to me, more than I'd like to admit (blush), I did meet some very nice peeps while twiddling my thumps while looking forlorn, or pushing my machine toward a refueling station.

The first time I filled up my VFR in Oregon, I was floored tha the attendant wanted to fill my tank. So I said "Go ahead." Before he could start I could tell he did not know what to do. He looked at me with clueless eyes, so I said I'd do it and he was noticeably relieved. And I was noticeably happier! In the store to pay I asked why and was told it was to increase employment. I thought to my self "How much job satisfaction is there in that job." and went on my way shaking my head.

So I might have done a thing......

Thanks a lot. Now I've got to wipe all the drool off my chin. -
That muffler on that VFR is the perfect picture of the best VFR. My current machine looked just like that, except for the wheels, when I bought it. But the Staintune was too noisy for an old phart like me. And it added to the cost of the bike that was beyond my budget, so I sold it to a fellow in, of all unlikely places, Hawaii.

This was probably the easiest decision I'll be making in2021. I consider VFRD my second family. And what a great family you've created Miguel. Take care and safe riding, Terry Yaki

So nice to see it in sunshine. I remember riding that road after the meet-up in Nelson, BC. It was raining in biblical amounts. Water was inches deep on some of the ascents. My five week trip around BC / Banff / Yoho was the best motorcycling and camping in all my 200,000+ miles of mc riding. I only wish I still had the physicality to keep doing it. Sigh!
