  1. Hi. Reaching out to my local VFRD family.

My red 2015 VFR was stolen early Thu morning.

    License C72119.

Has factory quick shifter, handlebar risers, and rear tire splash guard.  Also has a RAM cell holder with white Qi charger on handlebar.

If you spot it, please call Surrey RCMP 604-599-0502. Thanks...

  2. Sadly, as one confirms another cancels. I thought I had confirmed getting out of work commitments in mid-July, but sadly things have changed and I need to be here in town the third week of July (the 16th...) - so I cancelled my room (regular king bed) at the Rocket a few hours ago (Brenda sounds lovely on the phone!) and it is up for grabs. Too bad - I was looking forward to catching up with some familiar faces, chasing down some VFR's and looking forward to stretching the legs on my new Tiger 1200 XCA ... oh well :( If any Vancouver area riders are planning on heading through the Kootenays on their first day and want some company as far as Nelson, let me know. Ride safe everyone - and take lots of photos!
  3. Booked - haven't ridden with the VFR crew since 2016 Kootenay Hootenanny in Nelson, BC. Looking forward to doing it all again :)
  4. Here is a link to the photos - thanks to my 'accomplice' Tammy for shooting some photos at the pub on Saturday night! All the photos should be downloadable - please let me know if there are any problems? https://www.dropbox.com/sh/at537qqt46cls1m/AAANvP5FGHoioqwqK2m9k1c1a?dl=0 Welcome to Nelson!
  5. Home safe and sound – 1,731 kms door to door. Mike, thanks for everything… and if the books do not balance at the end of the day, let me know and will PayPal you some $$ Great route home: Nelson → Kaslo → New Denver → Nakusp → Needles ferry to Highway 6 (Monashee Pass) down to Summerland and took the Summerland to Princeton FSR. Nice twisty pavement at either end and about 60 - 70 kms of gravel in the middle. Lovely scenery and great way to end a wonderful weekend! Great to see so many familiar faces and meet some new friends! Thanks again Mike for everything – it was a great weekend. I will post a link to all the photos in the next day or so
  6. The three cylinders of fury have arrived at the four cylinder event Time for a quick shower before the beer flows - not that I didn't get wet enough today. Sunshine tomorrow! See y'all soon, Tony.
  7. I will probably be about an hour ahead of you guys, but I will be taking a couple of off road detours on my way there... I am sure I will see you group somewhere along the way. White Triumph Tiger with bags
  8. Yep - P & S for the 'nightlife' and DSLR and three or four lenses for rest of the weekend. See you there Craig... will be fun and the weather looks amazing!
  9. Mike, thanks for the link. It is amazing how much stuff there is re: the CBX. Pretty sure you could build one from scratch from all the parts available on eBay Looking forward to seeing you & the crew on Friday... I may have to buy you a beer or ten
  10. Tony, if you see Keith and Jalene please say hello from me! I assume they are back from the trip to South America now???
  11. It is a beautiful part of BC - a few shots from the top of Idaho Peak from a few years ago, and a shot looking straight down on a 4 x 4 coming up the switchbacks. Looking forward to exploring Buchanan Lookout.
  12. Yep - 1981 CBX 1000 (actually 1047 cc) non turbo with 56,000 original kms. one owner and in great condition. He had the dealer (Trev Deeley) install Ontario Moto Tech headers and exhaust when new, and the bike is loud and proud. My neighbours are thrilled it sounds amazing! At the back of Sandon past the general store on the right is the trail up to Idaho Peak - a little gnarly climb with switchbacks, but I have done it 3 times now with no issues. The views at the top are breathtaking and worth the slog up the mountain.
  13. Mike, great agenda ... looks perfect! If you bring your dual sport, I have a nice backroad route to one of the last gravity fed gas pumps in western Canada... any grade of fuel available as long as you want premium :) My old KLR in the photo - now on a Tiger 800 XC. Was thinking about bringing my latest acquisition, but I think I will leave the beast at home :)
