congrats mate - that is a great milestone. Just picked mine up with 10,000km on the clock - will be stoked to add 140,000......
Enjoy the bike, 10,000km - its not even broken in yet (that happens about 12,000km, you'll notice it if you haven't got there already)
Thanks for reading :)

Mine's on 63k, nowhere near as pretty as yours.Smells a little oily after a hard run. You gotta love po's and their casual attitude to maintenance.
Oh, and this might be a touch too late, but with the NSW Police Academy being in Goulburn, you're sitting on perhaps the most patrolled stretch of road in Oz!
I'm sure you already knew that, though...
Good luck reaching the big 300!
Ha, yeah, well aware of the proximity of the Police Academy, though thankfully, not through personal experience :)
No previous owner on this bike to blame, any troubles are my own doing :)
Thanks for the comment.

Honestly, I've kept the chain lubed, the tyres inflated and taken it to my local Honda shop for service in accordance with the book. I am almost totally mechanically inept so I leave to people who've earned my trust over many years.

Thanks Jag. Speed sensor fixed now... both bikes now fully serviceable.

Thanks HS, yes it sounds fantastic even on stock pipe. Starting to wonder what the VFR would sound like with aftermarket pipes. Wish I could find some I like.
-
Thanks, very much enjoying it.

Yeah, the weather hasn't been to great of late has it :)
Camera I think is not my top priority at the moment, got a couple of other things looking to steal all my money.
-
Update - I never thought of it until the other day, but I ran this through the wind chill calculators and turns out I was basically in -17C or so for the whole ride....
Yes, that's cold.... and I won't do that again.
-
Hmm, you could ride in a day, it's been done before (not just by me) Maybe you could work on work letting you take two days up and two days down :) That way you could stay off most of the slab!

Thanks :)

So Casey Stoner did win his final MotoGP appearance, awesome.
But that wasn't the end. Our long struggling rider Anthony West came 2nd in the Moto2 and new guy Arthur Sissis came 3rd in the Moto3 (his first podium ever!), so a great day at the track for the Aussies :)

Certainly won't try a Speed Triple. Don't feel like a thou, and a Street Triple is more like the SF848. Maybe, but if you read my Progress entry I think that might not be the way forwards either way :)
But I'm still looking so why not I guess.

Write this on the blackboard 50 times.... I will set up a backup regime, I will set up a backup regime :)
Sounds like a nice rig.

No, but I was looking along those lines in case they send me again. If I head north from Nowra over Mac Pass or Kangaroo Valley it would be a good way home. Thanks

Lol, this is Picton NSW, not Picton NZ. Though I've been to both, it's a bit awkward to ride to Picton, NZ from Sydney :)
I have always wanted to ride NZ as well. There are some fantastic roads and fantastic vistas there.

I've been riding several years, but 90% commute, and until the recent rides this year, probably 3 years since I last did any "fun" rides. I've been thinking that a couple of solo rides might be a good idea. I did used to do some group rides, but again, not for many years Track days I have never really looked into. I have done some basic courses, but nothing track focused
As for the blue, I love it too, and even here there aren't that many around. Though I like the tri colour and have you seen the white with black stripe version we had here for a brief period... almost motivated me to get a second one :)
-
Unfortunately, they never released the ABS version here. NFI why. But likely my next bike will have it. If there is a next bike :)

Well almost a month later I roll out of the shop on a bright, shiny, clean and fully repaired blue VFR. They seem to have one a pretty good job. I'm going to go around some of the bike and check it out but pretty happy. They replaced several parts I didn't expect (like the windscreen) so that's a bonus.
Due for a service shortly and the repair shop wasn't my normal place so I'll book it in for a minor service soon. 106,000km now. Maybe another 100,000 to go eh!

Disobeying a No Stopping sign It's Australia (and Sydney is worse) but like I said, I've parked in similar places downtown, must be a suburb thing.$197 for a parking ticket?! That's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard! Why on earth is it so expensive?Unless they wrote you up for illegally parking in a handicapped spot I can't understand such a high cost.BTW, where do you live, so just in case I'm ever there I know to either park perfectly legally, or just continue thru town without stopping! -
Never really felt we have a riding season here. If the day is nice enough (and not starting too early) it's pretty much good to go, though the days are shorter. In someways the peak of summer is almost as not fun as middle of winter. Riding in 40C+ can really sap your energy and concentration.

Hmm I thought this was a draft and not posted. I will be redoing this as I want the pics to line up a bit, and I want to break it up for easier digestion.
Yeah, I wish we were in Melbourne. Personally the family and I are big fans of Melbourne. Unfortunately, professionally its not as attractive for either of us. Someday!

Thanks for the comments here and the last entry. Much better now with the doc giving the leg the all clear. Friday I commuted on the other bike. Leg was real stiff but it felt great to be back on the bike. Just got to work on the leg to keep it flexible.
I do have a 2 piece (Berik), but as much as they are awesome protection, when the temps are down towards 0 or below (it was 4 that evening) they are no good for keeping you warm. At 110kmh, the wind chill has a massive effect and you can't spend 3 hours at -16 in leathers. I do wish I had been wearing the Dainese pants that match the jacket though. I had bought them about 3 weeks before this crash, but not worn them much.
