  1. Thanks for this Miguel. Put in some Sonic Springs (1.0) tonight after work in under an hour. Got the springs very cheap from Jamie Daugherty. Now if my 929 shock with heavier spring will just show up...the USPS tracking number says "out for delivery", but its 715pm! Thanks again Miguel, and thanks to BaileyRock, too!
  2. Count me interested. Cautiously so, but interested.

  4. Those look like the fasteners on my old VFR (1990)!
  5. You, sir, are one brave soul. Do you have a name for your bike? May I suggest a little "german sounding" moniker...like "Hindenburg"?:goofy: Best of luck with that! Cheers!

Wow. Pretty. I fell in love with VFRs on a 750 looked just like that one... Cheers! Beautiful bike!

    VERY nice bike there!

    Wow! Awesome bikes!
  12. bike wasn't running before, put in Iridium plugs (only about a buck more per plug): VOILA! running. The old plugs *were* fouled...P.O. was running roughly 3 qts too much oil. Doesn't seem like it blew the rings...fingers crossed.
  13. Those aren't the same! They look OK. But the originals can be had on ebay!
  14. If it is third or fourth gen: first go to Tightwad's "wiremybike.com" and click on the pic of your year model. Select the appropriate VFRness. Pay. Wait a couple days for it to come in. Install immediately. *Then* ride it and see what you do/don't like. You can make sure you have a good charging system first (the 3rd and 4th gens are relatively notorious for weak electrical). But for 50 bucks it is a no brainer. 5th gens there seems to be "jury still out" on the charging system. I put the VFRness on my latest, and a new rectifier/regulator (r/r) to be sure. I did not put a meter on it first...the headlights would go bright as the revs increased then dim around 4-5k rpm. They don't do that after VFRness (VFR harness). 6th gen: look around on this site! I really don't know much about them, save what I read. I like gear drive cams... Cheers! and welcome aboard!
  15. The packaging looks like it was insprired by some kind of feminine hygiene product. LMAO!
  16. The review for the 3rd gen was great. I rode about 60k miles with them (the bike got stolen after the last r/r frying - sure wish the VFRness was around 10 years ago!). I really liked them. i will put up some pics tomorrow after install. They dont twist or rotate at all after they dry. You have to break the lever to get them off ( I Know - the bike was recovered and had been beaten silly, one lever broken off - when it is running again, it will get new 'skins!)
  17. Hey ya'll! I know lots of folks on this site favor the Pazzo levers and such. Being in school for a couple more years, as I was for lots of miles on my 3rd gen, I always went for the least expensive solution. Stock levers aren't bad. I do like some grip though. I had lever skins on the 3rd gen, and found them online for the 5th. Can't wait to put them on. They are just rubber shrink wrap for the levers, but they have some grooves on there, too. I will put up pics when done, but they are not very special looking. these are blue. But, I really like them. Just always liked how they felt with gloves and such. Was wonderin if anybody else shared my sentiment. Cheers.
  18. P.S. Where did you get the relay? how much? I think I have seen a thread with info on sourcing the LEDs already, but the only place I know for the relay is Thurn...
  19. Looks like nice work! Thanks for the pics!

Rick's r/r. Latest part number...overnighted as soon as I found the burned stator connector. Ordered the VFRness as soon as I got the bike, but it wouldn't start the next day. Troubleshooting found burned connector, hence the overnight.

used "posi-lock" weatherproof and non weatherproof connectors. The non weather-proof ones got liquid electrical tape.
