  1. http://www.thurn-motorsport.de/html/verkleidung-rc36.html Other bike plastics will be possible, as anything can be made possible with enough drive.... Do introduce yourself in the Welcome section; with a picture of course! Was in your country 4 years ago on my RC36-2

  2. Since this thread has become the all-things-custom-headers-thread I'm posting here....... I was in on the first batch of custom headers and after install it was immediately clear that the bike would benefit from a dyno tune. Surge at small, constant throttle openings, a general lack of crisp response to inputs, etc. This wasn't a surprise, I was actually pleased - the motor needing more fuel because its moving more air is a good thing Here's my experience - I wanted to try the Rapid Bike system based on my web research but ultimately went with a Power Commander. Not my decision really, any reputable shop within a reasonable distance was far more experienced with the PC. One was willing to try the RB but my bike would have been patient #1. My header has 3 O2 ports, one for each pair of cylinders and one downstream of the merge. Unfortunately, the header pairs the left & right cylinders (iow a front and rear). The technician highly preferred front-front & rear-rear cylinders for tuning purposes. As he said, the temp difference between front and rear cylinders is large enough to make a difference. We ended up using the single O2 port past the merge to tune We didn't go for ultimate power but rather smooth throttle response. Even so everyone wants to see the numbers so Max HP = 106.0 Max T = 55.2. Dynoplot down below Mods are WiLD headers, flow balanced injectors, Pipercross air filter, Micron exhaust cans Results - throttle response is much, much better now. Crisp, linear, no surging, no stumbling - puts a smile on my face each time I open it up. Sadly riding season is almost over around here šŸ˜ž Dyno Plot VFR800.pdf

  3. I'm seldom out near dawn or dusk so I admire your work ethic. Lovely shot that stands apart from the majority.

  4. So HighsideNZ has a 5th gen engine in 6th gen frame, with a 74mm bigbore & all of my mods for 140hp. I have a lightweight 5th gen circa 205Kg wet, with 120hp. I'd like to do more to it, but time & money always arrive independently ā˜¹ļø I never seem to have both at the same time. Happy modding šŸ‘

  5. challenge accepted! šŸ™‚ 150hp is needed to match the 1200 power to weight .... assuming a few pounds of weight loss, so yeah thats a tall order and sounds like supercharger territory, Im sure Ive seen 160hp dyno chart somewhere???? see, I had an aprilia rsv1000 and I spent a lot of time trying to make that thing comfortable. I decided to sell it and now I have a VFR (3 bikes later) For me at least, I like to modify things. best to start with a bike I really like to ride and mod it....it is MUCH more about the journey and having something unique. sure I can get a K1200 or something but there is a bunch of stuff I don't like about that bike that is insurmountable. I don't want JUST a fast bike. I want all the things the VFR has to offer and then I start modifying it to make it mine, make it special and enjoy the journey. Turn up on a R1 , the guys say "ok cool there is an R1, nice bike" . Turn up on a supercharged VF800 with trick and custom bits all over it and they say "damn, that thing is sick!!!". not that I care, its more about knowing that it is something I have created. But that's just me.

  7. Took my first 100 mile ride today on the Honda 8thGen Interceptor after the VFRD performance upgrades. Flawless. Zero issues. Magnificent. I'm just blown away about how much better this bike is now. I would say I have a 13-15% power increase and a power curve/VTEC transition that is magical. šŸ˜‰ Top end power is super impressive and much improved. It is slightly louder, but not too bad. The only modification I have left to do, and I was saving it for last, was the seat. The new custom seat will be the cherry on top šŸ˜‰ This is my Dream bike. šŸ˜‰ This 8G is NOT stock! Look MOM! No Utters! šŸ˜‰ Thank you LANCE!!

  9. got nothin' better to do... and it was interesting reading the evolution of the header build. Btw I wasn't the 1st member to ask that question and he didn't get as much flack as I did so I think it only fair for those who commented to my post go back through the thousand pages of posts to find the 1st post and retroactively give him some of what I got.

  10. Hi, I didn't support the back of the bike when the engine was out, I built a wooden box that fits around the oil pan and put it on a floor jack. Unbolted the swingarm and motor which was secure on the floor jack and lowered, then having reattached the subframe I removed the frame wheelbarrow style. It helps to have an extra body.

  11. Well the unit arrived and I've fitted it and carried out a full test over the same route as before. Problem solved. Yippee! A big thank you to Yaman and Daniele at Dimport IT. I cannot fault their customer service. We tried everything possible to find the cause but in the end it looks like I got a faulty unit. Phil

  12. Ditto... customer service from Yaman is exceptional! Every question and email gets answered... I sent in my module for the 5th gen re-progamming and he noticed a hairline crack in the case and is replacing the unit complete with new warranty starting from the date of replacement! I brought my car into Acura for an air bag replacement due to a recall and they didn't even reset my SRS light because... "it's not listed in the recall". Dealer wanted to charge me another minumum $125 to hook it up to "the computer"... Acura could learn from Yaman on how to treat customers!

  13. I think CRRC is looking for a baseline on that particular dyno on that day to eliminate or document the dyno variability... This way if he pulls a high HP number naysayers can be certain it was not due to a high reading optimistic dyno...

  14. Perhaps this is equally suited to the TXMac Quotes thread, but I do believe my one notable contribution would be "He's not called MiniCarver for no reason." And that was before the whole rebuild thing was floated...
