I dont see alot of differnce between the Heavily used oem and the brand new Gary model. Other than the Gary model is clear insulative epoxy, as you can see the OEM is opaque in the area that hasnt heated from use.

By all means buy the gary model(doesnt matter to me) but I'd like an average life number to compare oem, the ricks and electrosport have not done well compared on other bikes Ive seen them replaced on, Im sure all the connections will be direct fit, but not likely. If it fails , you can do it over again, no harm.

For me , on the vfr the oem parts in this area have shown excellent life, and I dont like doing stuff twice, so why gamble with the labor involved is my outlook.
