Hellforleather Posted May 17, 2021 Share Posted May 17, 2021 Hi my vfr800 2001. 5000 miles is making a crackling sounding noise coming from the ignition area happening when bike is running or idling not when ignition only ,I’ve sprayed that area with a c f-50 during storage could that be the cause that drying out ? My key switch contacts were dirty and I had intermittent connectivity, and it's not enough to make a crackling noise. It is pretty easy to take the switch off the bottom of the ignition, open it and clean it up though if you want to check it out. Hope this helps!
