thisguyhere
Hi, can anyone please verify if the key code can be found under the gas cap? I think I've lost my key... edit - I should note, it's a 2010 VFR1200F
Member Contributer DannoXYZ Posted February 17, 2021 Member Contributer Share Posted February 17, 2021 Look around cylinder where key inserts. Do you see word "HISS"?
thisguyhere
I see nothing that'd indicate HISS: But I was finally able to pick the lock to the gas cap, and there is a three letter marking, I'm assuming that's the key code?
thisguyhere
It's looking like I'll just need to get a locksmith to come out to cut a key. Nevermind...
Member Contributer DannoXYZ Posted February 18, 2021 Member Contributer Share Posted February 18, 2021 Not sure on this particular model, but gas-cap on many bikes have fewer tumblers. Not sure if that keycode cuts key for master that works with everything, or just gas-cap. You can also go down to dealer with VIN and they'll cut you key as well. Magneto
Can’t tell you if that is the key code but I checked under my gas cap and my stamping is different. I didn’t find anything in service manual about key, but is huge and not searchable so low confidence... Let us know if you find anything solid.
