EirikAmundsen
Good day everyone. I have a 2000 registered 1999 model of the VFR 800 fi. After some reading I found out that the model I purchased was a motorcycle sold in Switzerland and Germany in 99. In other words my VFR because of EU regulations in these two countries have a ECU and a Catalytic converter with an o2 sensor which limits my power by about 8 - 10 bhp and 6 kw compared to the other VFR models sold around the globe at this particular time. My question naturally is, how do I go about changing it to the "correct" power so it is similar to the other models from 1999? Do I just need to buy a different ECU from a vfr800 sold in other countries in 1999 and change the catalytic converter to a normal one without the hecs3 EU regulations? This is one of the threads that initially sparked my interest: https://www.vfrdiscussion.com/index.php?/forums/topic/86753-ecuelectrical-variance/ Cheers from Norway, Eirik
VFRedrik
Swap the ECU and exhaust from a donor bike that is not limited by default, or swap ECU and drill out the cat ~ Cheers edit Nice bike btw!
