Member Contributer Philois1984 Posted August 1, 2020 Member Contributer Share Posted August 1, 2020 Watching WSBK live on Kayo, looking forward to race 1 should be a good race, plenty of riders in contention. Being a Honda fan boy I have my fingers crossed for Haslam and Bautista (maybe a podium finish 🤞)

Member Contributer lazyeye Posted August 2, 2020 Member Contributer Share Posted August 2, 2020 My opinion is that Honda is playing catchup with Ducati and Kawasaki on a technical level since they let their CBR1000 project get out of date for the last decade. It appears HRC is suddenly taking Superbike seriously again, but they still are down on power and x factor. Kawasaki only plays in Superbike, so that's their focus. Ducati plays in GP also and decided just to stop segregating their development efforts between the two projects.
Member Contributer BusyLittleShop Posted August 2, 2020 Member Contributer Share Posted August 2, 2020 Cut my wrist and it will bleed Honda red but HRC engineers have run out of Rs they need a V... Honda's pedestrian I4 street bike labors in the shadow of MotoGp technology as their MotoGp race bred V4 sits on the side lines... Throw me in coach, I'm ready to go... Member Contributer lazyeye Posted August 4, 2020 Member Contributer Share Posted August 4, 2020 As I recall the rumor was that they were going to sell enough RC213Vs to Homologate and then stomp WSBK with them. Then Euro4/5 restrictions and maybe FIM said "please don't" and it didn't happen.

Member Contributer BusyLittleShop Posted August 5, 2020 Member Contributer Share Posted August 5, 2020 Honda produced enough RC213 to homologate but the CEO of Honda didn't follow up with the paper work... much to the disappointment of HRC engineers... 2020 CycleWorld Kevin Cameron HRC We asked Kuwata why Honda's MotoGP bike has V-4 power yet the new Fireblade is an inline? "This question is the most difficult!" Kuwata said, with a laugh. "Because the market is smaller [for big sportbikes] , it is very difficult to make two types of bikes in one category. We had V-4 RVF superbikes in the past, but for myself, I would like to have both. Many reasons for not having both-it's not a technical decision but a business one. Best to ask the sales department!" Member Contributer YoshiHNS Posted August 5, 2020 Member Contributer Share Posted August 5, 2020 Honda missed their window to reclaim their V4 glory when the RSV4 came out a decade ago, and has no chance now that Ducati has their own V4. Honda is an accountant group with a hobby of making motor vehicles.

Member Contributer BusyLittleShop Posted August 10, 2020 Member Contributer Share Posted August 10, 2020 Nothing wrong with Honda except the CEO in control... he is the account that closes his wallet with a torque wrench towards any new race bred V4...
