dozyproductions
Hello. A couple of months ago I bought a fan switch that would turn on at 95c.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-VFR-800-1998-2013-THERMOSTAT-RADIATOR-FAN-SWITCH-BRASS-SCREW-TYPE/173898498956?epid=22027495926&hash=item287d28838c:g:OWkAAOSwLIBdvxTD It's been working great but now the fan is spotty at 95c and even after 100c. One day it'll make sure the the bike is cool, when on/off, and then the next day almost nothing. The thing is connected and everything looks okay and tightened. Are these symptoms of a faulty switch or do you guys have any experience with other gremlins that might cause similar problems? Anything is appreciated. Member Contributer Grum Posted July 27, 2020 Member Contributer Share Posted July 27, 2020 With Ignition to ON, check you have a solid 12v coming from Fuse E 10amp (Fan Motor) to the Fan motor measure this at the Fan Motor Black/Blue wire. Any issues with the 12v check the wiring from your Ignition Switch as it's the Blue/Orange wire from the Ignition Switch that powers Fuse E. Using a shorting link you can just bridge the wires at the Termoswitch with Ignition On the fan should operate every time you make the connection. Make sure the Ground is good at the Thermoswitch Black wire. Make sure the 2P Black connector is good and clean. Make sure the Fan motor and Thermoswitch connections are good and tight. Failing that, then Yes you are most likely looking at an intermittent/faulty Thermoswitch. Do you have the Wiring Diagram? Powodzenia na zdrowie. dozyproductions
Czy jesteś Polakiem w Australii? Took a look at the wiring diagram after seeing your post. A bit overwhelming. Seems like your instructions will be clearer once more when the fairings come off. Don't have the most experience with auto/moto wiring beyond replacing and rewrapping burnt out wires from the last vfr. Can you describe a shorting link a bit more for this application? Dziękuję za pomoc!

Czy jesteś Polakiem w Australii? Nie Dziękuję za pomoc! Zapraszamy. Just a short piece of wire of a similar gauge wire at the Thermoswitch. You just need to Ground the Black wire of the Thermoswitch with Ignition On that should start the Fan every time you Ground the Black wire. Dobranoc. dozyproductions
Btw, thank you for that. Determined it was a bad switch after following your steps. Just for anyone random in Europe, do any of you know of a place that we can buy a thermo switch that turns the fan on at 95c or before?
