I designed an adapter to mount a P32 Brembo caliper, which used widely on Ducati's.   Current design does not fit P34 but can be redesigned.  I have none left at the moment.  If there is enough interest, I can have a batch made.    The stock bracket is still used though.  It's still in the OEM location on the bottom.  The advantage is that it doesn't have to be disassembled.

Oh yeah! Thats right up my alley! Count me in for sure. How many do you need to run a batch? No chance at getting the old style? Looks amazing!

Any treatment done to the aluminum or is it just bare? Thanks!

If you're talking the original style for that thread, it was designed by someone else.  That one requires complete disassembly.   Being a bit larger as it is a complete bracket, it will cost more.  My method is more economical and smaller but not optimal as it is a bracket on a bracket.  It's up to you.  Read the thread and see who is working on the original design.   The first batch I did was for 5 pieces.  It was bare aluminum.

Ok children, settle down.  Time for an update.

In the interests of letting my stitched up fingers heal, Im typing one handed and working on some less heavy build details for now. Today I pulled the OEM O2 sensors out an decided to make eliminator plugs out of em.

I snipped the wires off the plugs, pulled the pins from the plug with a micro flat head and proceeded to solder a 330 ohm resistor to the back of the pins.

Then I inserted the pins back in, and viola! O2 sensor eliminator plugs for a few cents. I know its not exciting or anything but its a little progress an given I'm literally handicapped at the moment I'm just glad to be working on the bike at all.

oh and my CBR tail came in today!

I'm assuming the subframe doesn't drop in and will need mounting adapters.   This should be interesting!  What's the plan?

Yup it will need adapters. Seb has done a few CBR tail adapters so rather than re invent the wheel Im gonna lean on him for an assist. Hiding the wires, reducing the wiring harness, converting to CBR1k stick coils, new MOFSET R/R ect on the way.

Yeah, totally agree! I got one of the first batch and it fits like factory! Took about 1.5 lbs. off, too.

Yeah that looks mint! Totally on board for one of those! Are those Ti safety bolts?

Not trying to be critical, just a helpful tip, if you wanna make that lock wire look pro fold that pigtail back on itself like a little loop. You should be able to put your hands down there and not cut yourself open. Pic is kinda dark so I cant tell for sure but you should always orient the lock loop so there is tension in the wire and it pulls the fastener tighter. Took me a long minute getting lock/ safety wire just right. Practiced on aircraft a LOT lol. Definitely adds a bit of detail that enhances the look beyond the practical safety of locking fasteners.

not my best work but this shows what I was talking about. Prop hub safety on a Piper Seneca

I know what you are talking about. I never had to do any aircraft work, so my sloppy weekend warrior race prep is good enough. I always say safety wire is ironically named, as it's about the most dangerous thing in the garage! I try to wire it the best I can, but to me it's more of a visual confirmation that yes I did tighten and torque those fasteners than an actual physical holder. I know some people that tend to leave things finger tight because they are going to "get back to that before it's done" but never actually get back to it. So I know torqued it if it's wired. The front ones are better, and the tails are better tucked away. I never need to get into the rear caliper area.

Yes Ti bolts from ProBolt! I swapped out all the caliper hardware. Just another tip, the Brembo caliper was set up so that the banjo and bleeder are interchangeable. They actually came in the opposite holes from where I put them to mount it. Pretty cool touch from Brembo!

Yeah Ive had some nasty "safety" wire accidents. I was watching a guy struggling to safety an oil filter on a C210 and his wire whipped back and sliced across his eye. Gnarly scar and permanent blindness in .005 seconds. Circlips, snap rings and safety wire all require eye pro if ya ask me. Those wee bastards love to jump off into another dimension pretty frequently and I would prefer if the path to that dimension was not through my eye.

Yeah the banjo bleed port is a nice touch for sure! Ill have to check out Probolts Ti collection! thanks

UPDATE!

Got home from work and has some packages waiting for me!

Blockoff plates from Mello Dude and SC Projects exhaust! Also did a bit more disassembly... Looks like the original battery was neglected and leaked a bit onto the swingarm. No hard damage just some discoloration.

Following this build for sure. I had an 09 FZ1 with the 04 R1 forks with Ohlins internals mated to a Penski shock. The most confidence inspiring suspension I have ever ridden. Excellent choices.

Glad you didn't suffer any worse damage to your hand.

Happy Friday Eve everyone. Got a few more packages in the post today! VFR750 front mount radiator and some CBR1000RR stick coils. Still waiting on some key parts to arrive before I can start "building" rather than disassembling. This is a build thread after all.

Alright Gents, sit down and shut up, its time for your weekend safety brief. I dont wanna hear about any of you social miscreants harassing the local girls (or guys). Remember, flys spread disease, so keep yours closed. If shes married, stay away. Unless their into that, in which case carry on and wear appropriate PPE. Dont keep dead animal in your barracks refrigerators other wise 1st Sgt will have your ass and finally dont be the one to fuck up libo for the rest of us. Semper kill.

OK no thats outta the way here is your Friday update. The bike is nearly 100% broke down into major components. Swingarm, frame, and some engine covers will head to powdercoat hopefully next week. Assorted odds and ends are heading into my ultrasonic cleaner for a bath and I got this little gem in the mail today as well as printing a copy of the SM.

New and improved oil cooler woot! On anoter note Im running out of bench space in my newly built garage so I made a 2x8 butcher block bench top and sealed it today. It will get legs and a lower shelf to help the cluster that is my work space.

Oil cooler looks great, but I wonder if it would work too well and keep the oil below optimum operating temperature? Just a thought....

BTW - what was the source for the cooler?
