Member Contributer GatorGreg Posted January 11, 2020 Member Contributer Share Posted January 11, 2020 Hey all, I’m back! I missed my old VFR so when I saw this beauty go up for sale at my local dealer I decided to reward myself with another VFR800 for Xmas 🙂 I still have my SMAX scooter (which is awesome) but wow it’s nice to have a VFR back in my garage! It has just over 8K miles and I got it for $7,500 OTD (including 7% sales tax, tag, and title). It is pretty much bone stock with the original exhaust and even has all the warning stickers on the tank, LOL. It came with the OEM Honda pearl white hard side bags which lock with the ignition key, quick shifter, tank pad, power socket, and some Michelin tires.According to the dealer, the original owner is an MSF instructor who bought it new from them (along with several other bikes) and is anal about maintenance. The thing is flawless and is so clean I’m tempted to park it in my living room so I can drool over it while I watch tv, LOL.Here’s some pics and I look forward to catching up on what’s new in VFR Discussion (I’m guessing not much has changed, LOL)
Member Contributer Grum Posted January 11, 2020 Member Contributer Share Posted January 11, 2020 Great news Greg, welcome back. Just knew you couldn't be too long without your sweet white lady. You'll have to go get yourself another Delkevic shorty. Now you can get rid that scooter thing, makes the deal even sweeter. Cheers, all the best Gator. I had brought my helmet in with me and this very cute girl I’ve never seen before sat down on the ab machine next to me and said she liked my helmet. We had some small talk and she said she’d see me around. I saw her checking out my bike as she left, so stay tuned 😀

Although with the saddle bags I suppose I could take my VFR to the grocery store too 😀 I’m probably going to leave the VFR stock this time. After riding my little 155cc Yamaha scooter for the last year the VFR sounds like a gnarly beast to me even with the stock exhaust, LOL

Member Contributer Bent Posted January 11, 2020 Member Contributer Share Posted January 11, 2020 Welcome back GG. Look forward to your good habit of posting pics. You should know that there is some "talk" of banning you for coming back with the incorrect color and talk of keeping it stock. Two mistakes in one post can get you in some real trouble. That OEM can is a sinfully heavy and ugly monster. A 14" Delkevic will cure all of that for not too much money but you know that. Also improves very low end torque for those mountain twisties in Florida. No problem really and nice to see you admit your mistake of selling your first VFR (even if it's the wrong color too). I have no room to talk. Only one trip to Western NC since you left. Not enough riding is my sin so it's all in fun....though brutal, I know, LOL! Be careful out there. We need some infrastructure. Tiutis
It’s a beauty. Those Michelins should serve you well in the torrential rains of FL.
Member Contributer GatorGreg Posted January 11, 2020 Author Member Contributer Share Posted January 11, 2020 Thanks Bent and Tiutis, yeah it’s raining lightly today so I may take it out for a quick test in the wet before the football starts. Heres some more pics, the saddle bags are pristine and I’m impressed with their engineering I had no idea there was an aluminum heat shield hiding under the exhaust side - anyone know what they cost? I just remember they were very expensive. Also, I assume that’s the Honda OEM 12v accessory under the seat but what’s the Moose thing? Battery tender perhaps? I also really like the Honda tank protector, what did all these little things cost the original owner do you think?
Tiutis
Bags are expensive, $900 at least. Other things are cheap but nice additions. Moose thing must be the batter tender.
Member Contributer GatorGreg Posted January 12, 2020 Author Member Contributer Share Posted January 12, 2020 I opened my saddlebags and found all sorts of great stuff, including a quick shifter! The dealer told me it had a quick shifter but I didn’t realize it wasn’t installed yet, I guess this explains why I couldn’t get it to quick shift, LOL

Member Contributer GatorGreg Posted January 12, 2020 Author Member Contributer Share Posted January 12, 2020 I also found these two sealed parts bags in the luggage, it doesn’t say what they are in English and I have no clue what they are - slightly different part numbers on each bag
Member Contributer GatorGreg Posted January 12, 2020 Author Member Contributer Share Posted January 12, 2020 Only the right side (exhaust side) saddle bag had this fabric liner on the bottom - is that normal or should the left saddle bag have it also? Is it just for additional heat shielding on the exhaust side?

Member Contributer Grum Posted January 12, 2020 Member Contributer Share Posted January 12, 2020 M8. You appear to have scored every accessory for the 8gen under the sun! Just do a bit of Googling on the part numbers, will help you identify what's what. Do you have the Tool Kit which should be under the seat cowl? Hope you also got the pillion seat, it's a gym girl requirement?
