Hello all.

Just received my staintune from Australia and got this in my ebay listings.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/98-99-Honda-VFR800-Stainless-Muffler-Exhaust-by-StainTune-off-Interceptor-800/163890890953?hash=item2628a888c9:g:xv8AAOSwkW5dlm0C:sc:FedExHomeDelivery!78704!US!-1

Just in case anyone was interested. Much cheaper than the $640 I paid.

How'd you get Staintune to make one for the 5th Gen VFR?  I've been to their website and they make them for the 1200's and the 800 ('14 and newer) it looks like.  I'm interested!

They will custom make anything they have made in the past. Just ask. $900 AUD shipped came to about $650 USD

Do you think a dual can, under seat set up could be possible or the dimensions make it out of the question? Will email them either way. Thanks for posting mate!

Anything is possible. I don't think through them though. If you're an e$tabli$hed grown up, (pic looks young) you might contact sebspeed. He's on our forum.

haha, 31 but always being mistaken for 24.

If those pictures are sebspeed's work, he has lovely pipe (placement) management. ((That's a title of a porno if I've ever heard one.)) My wolf exhaust had a slight indent in the pipe in order to give more wheel clearance. Last picture looks great.

Btw, asked the ebay person and their only response was, "I don't do fabrication, so really have no idea about that. Sorry."

Great product. Hi mount on a 5th gen IMO best sounding exhaust on the market. Good to know they will still make them. Seb does some amazing work.

Dozy, my two cents, is anything is possible with enough time effort and money. But is it worth it? I think our dated bikes look correct with their age appropriate exhaust. Haha. But then I see a Ducati tailsection and subframe cf termingoni tucked in under the seat and I get it.

VFRs have a certain timeless look to them. Can keep it old school or go with the current day ducati thing 😉

Not to further hijack this more but can you just arbitrarily go from single to dual can? Would it need a definite custom tune if made by the 'local guy'?

There is a modification thread you might want to look for. Wolf exhaust. Pretty much have to delete tail section fender, relocate battery and stuff, build alum or stainless box to act as a rear shield, fender, new battery box and mounting point for the mufflers. if you want to keep the 5th gen subframe and tailsection.

As far as remapping I would think it a good idea but not mandatory. Header pipes may be the same 5th and 6th gen. If so the dual exhaust should fit right on.

I am only speaking from my faded memory trying to provoke someone who knows like Sebspeed. You could search his threads and find some good leads.

Perfect!  I just shot them an email with my full contact info (you saved me that step!).  Nothing but the best for my 'ol gal (and I am not patient enough to wait for another to pop up on ebay).  Thanks for the info!

A word on Sebspeed - he does OUTSTANDING work.  Love the clutch cover he made for me, absolutely trick looking!
