Got this from the UK site wemoto. Com

What I have done is put heatsink paste on the back along with 4 ram heatsink plates  fitting the volt meter today,

I was supriced to find my origanal connectors where in very good condition so I have used the simple plug and play set up

Heatsink paste is best applied in a very very thin layer.

Well, it was back in the early 80's when I built PC's :goofy:

Im just about to swap out my RR (on 6gen) for the mosfet one. Heres what it looks like with my own home-made harness. Still missing the fuse block.

That is a very neat and tidy installation.  Hats off to you for a very nice job.  :fing02:

From the looks of this its not a mosfet, mosfets have a stainless plate on back.Where did you get this RR?

Wemoto in the UK is a very reputable outfit, but they're not a VFR charging system specialist.  After years of trying other things (Electrex, etc.) I've gone back to OEM-spec Shindengen, only, on my bikes.

Ordinarily, heat transfer paste and cooling fans were only "useful" on the original OEM reg/recs without cooling fins.  We're talking 20 years ago!  Modern MOSFET and series reg/recs are almost bullet-proof and do not require either heat transfer to the frame or extra air cooling from an external fan.

Ciao,

After doing a Roadstercycle SH847 Kit on my VFR, I did the same on my SV650S. Both sit at a reliable 14.5V and would never trust anything else.
