jstehman
Well it happened. The tab at the rear of the solo cowl broke and ran off. This is technically the second time it's happened.. the first time the price was lodged under the seat and I could abs cement it back in position and all was good. Came home today and it's gone. So something is causing the cowl to move and break the tab... So I can wiggle the brake light assembly pretty good.. previous owner removed the mudguard and put a license holder there... I got the mudguard with the sale of the bike, so I fitted it up to the tail, and voila! It actually holds the rear cowl and brakelight from bouncing around and pressing up on the cowl, breaking the tab! (Hypothesis) Hopefully this is the fix.. tomorrow will tell as I'm putting it back in there. She just doesn't look right without the cowl. Oh and somebody tell Honda there has to be a better way to remove the seat than to pull up on the rear where that cowl is too Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted September 26, 2019 Member Contributer Share Posted September 26, 2019 Reinforce the next tab repair with a thin metal/plastic strip and put a rivet on each end. Dab the rivet with a bit of paint and be done with it. Not 100% pretty but very functional.
