FrysianViffer
Hello my follow viffers, I recently nakeded my vfr750 And on the digital Koso gauge the water temp never really comes above 75C c when riding and on a cold day it doesn't come over 50C. You might think that the thermostat is broken but i changed that this winter hoping that it would stay on temp this season. Now I've been thinking, could a thermostat that opens at a higher temp say 86C or maybe 88C keep the bike at the right temperature? And if so how do i find one. Because I've been searching but with no results. Also pic is my naked project
squirrelman
place some tape or paper blockage over 1/3 of the radiator area.
Member Contributer Terry Posted May 22, 2019 Member Contributer Share Posted May 22, 2019 Where is the Koso gauge picking up the temperature? From the engine block as per the original or from the radiator? I would place more faith in a mechanical device like a thermostat functioning correctly than some digital device (but then I am getting older...). How about checking the engine block temperature with an IR gun?
FrysianViffer
Its measures at the thermostat house Just as original. But I managed to find a fitting stat which opens at 88C but this did not have any effect even after driving for a while. So I think the rad is too big for this bike in naked trim
koekum
But does the Koso measure accurately?
