supernatural5
Here spring is springing, 07 has been on battery tender a few months. Went out to wake her up, removed tender, turned on ignition, clock displayed correct time, no lights, no fuel pump report, nothing. Dash went blank. Turned off ignition, turned back on, clock was reset to 1:00. Battery has 14VDC. Main fuse is good. It ran fine when I parked it. Ideas?
Member Contributer Grum Posted April 1, 2019 Member Contributer Share Posted April 1, 2019 First impression is your Battery is stuffed! Grab your multimeter and place it on the battery terminals, read the voltage and then turn ON the ignition, what happens to the voltage? If it drops radically then it's stuffed. Unloaded normal battery terminal voltage may not mean the battery is healthy, it's not an indicator of its ability to supply current to any given load. Also I'm surprised you are reading 14VDC! that's more like a voltage you'd see with engine running! Are your battery terminals clean and tight? Make sure the Negative terminal is properly bonded to frame (grounded). The fact your Clock resets is a clear loss of supply volts and probably means you don't have any strange issues with the Ignition Switch. (Clock power does not go through the Ignition Switch). Check the above and get back to us. Good Luck.
