Yes but not all on the list have responded to my PMs. Hence my post here. I've heard in the past, some folks say they don't get PM notifications, so I figured I'd use the header thread, and another round of PMs to see what "shaking the tree" might do.

I don't suppose you have email addresses for the non-responders...? I think there are some who don't log on here for long periods of time, get busy with life, and forget what they signed up for. It has happened to me.

Unfortunately, the only communication path is via PM. The member list is really the only way we know who did want to purchase the headers.

The admins would have access to emails of those you're trying to track down...

Hmm, I'll see if we might be able to go that route then. Need to discuss with SF.

Cheers

Hello all.  I just finished all 61 pages!  My 8G would really like a set of these headers.  Is it still possible to hop on board this run?

Curious to hear if anyone else has placed their deposit since the last update.

I believe we only received 2 since the last update. We are just on the cusp of reaching the minimum for the order but really need to get more of those who wanted on the list originally to get back to us one way or the other. Sf and I are trying to see what we can do on our end. Persuading Wade into building them, even if we're shy a few headers from his minimum, is on that list.

I was on the list.... but I already have one installed in my 8G. I was thinking of buying another one? But honestly, after further review, if something were to happen to my beloved 8G, I probably would be done with VFR's? I can only stand to buy new motorcycles, nothing used.

If something happened to my VFR? I'd have to consider a Gold Wing? or if I stay with a sport bike, maybe one of those BMW XR1000's?

I can't believe there isn't a lot of people lining up to get their hands on a custom header for a VFR? Pricey? Yes, but it makes the VFR sooo much better...

How far are we away from the minimum?

Oddly, both my VFRs were used when I bought them. My 2009 6 Gen only had 346 miles on it when I bought it in 2011, so I consider it new! My 5 Gen had less than 30K miles, so it was still young when I bought it a few years later. As for how close we are to the minimum, were only a few away but a minimum of 15 is what Wade is asking for in order to get this further along.

I missed the last run, so I really hope we get this one over the line!

Maybe some eye-candy pics from those who have installed VFRD headers might help prime the pump?

Ciao,

not exactly header porn but here is my '98.  These were of the 1st run and the fit wasn't exact as the bottom pipes protrude under the fairing but who looks under there?  😉20210425_153747.thumb.jpg.5b9ed64625e4a05e6b0326eb160594cb.jpg

So I was thrilled by the power my 8G has now after the header install, How about you? Was the power increase acceptable/delectable to you? 😉 Curious if I'm just being biased because I spent the money? I didn't get any before/after dino runs, but the seat of the pants dino showed a noticeable improvement in passing power,

I just posted in both VFR 800 Owners and VFRWORLD FB groups a little advertisement mentioning that we need just a few more orders to move forward with the custom group buy.

Sorry guys, I may have to bow out of this buy. I was going to buy an extra, just in case, but I plan on having my 8G for 27 years, just like I had my 3G that I bought new. 😉

Besides, I'm trying to build a house and my 18 year old truck may not be worth fixing anymore?. UGH! Putting a grand on the shelf probably wouldn't be prudent at this juncture. 😉

Absolutely-using the map done at Attack Performance the increase in thrust was significant especially at higher rpms.

Didn't know there was a map created for the 8th gen.  Which PC do you use?

Yes, there was one created for the 8G.

The DynoJet Power Commander PCV.

You should still be able to get the tune for a small upcharge.

...or skip getting a tune with real time closed loop control in a Rapid Bike instead... 😜

I just sent my deposit.

I saw a set of these in the flesh at EDR Performance in Beaverton Oregon.  They will be doing the install and tune for me.  They have done multiple sets and report great results and happy owners.

Regarding the gaskets that go between the primaries and the cylinder head - delkevic is out of stock again. I tried finding an alternative. These will fit with some grinding EBAY LINK. They measured around 42.2mm OD so I used an angle grinder to narrow them down. It's possible to do so because they're not hollow like some other gaskets, they have material all the way through. They seal nicely and don't inhibit exhaust flow on my motad(ish) headers.

Delkevic almost certainly doesn't make gaskets.  We just have to find the source they're buying from...
