Wan't sure whether to post up in here or 3rd gen, but since the 86's are up front here we are 🙂  My brother dropped off his 3rd gen, so we have the "fridge and freezer" in the back, and my 86 840 and project VFR I picked up recently up front. Couldn't help but think of the song from Foreigner. 🤣

So that's where all the good ones are hiding? Nice collection there, no shame in own multiples 😄

The TTS kit was 837cc (rounded up to 840!), but I'd never heard of anyone doing an RC24 before.  Now I have!

It's not just a sticker 🙂  I built that engine quite some time ago, sourced the 74mm pistons from TTS in the UK (they're JE pistons). Mike Velasco did the boring job. I tried mounting a single side swinger at first, but I gave up when I saw how much wider the sprocket spacing was on the back, didn't want to fuss with trying to make it work.

The engine cover is well used, but still the original paint. I polished the frame, but it hindsight I should have just left it alone.

Great photos!

Was the 840 conversion worth the effort and cost?

I don’t understand the question.

The RC24 with 'VFR840' decal has had the 750 bored out to 837cc.

I think he means, "was it worth the cost and effort" is really the sort of question only someone without a decade-long unfinished motorcycle project would ask.  (Or several, in my case...)

Haha yes I'll pay that John 😄

I could take a similar photo, as my 4th Gen collection doubled this year... I now have three red ones to go with the one formerly known as black - which is still a project...

The two newcomers are goers, which makes a nice change.
