Member Contributer bigb Posted November 10, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted November 10, 2018 HI, Does anyone know can a VTR SP2 five spoke front wheel into my 4th Gen/Firestorm front end? What discs fit the wheel and have a 296mm OD? Many thanks, Big B.
SEBSPEED
CBR600F4i (2001-2006) 296mm discs will bolt straight to the SP2 wheel. Believe it uses the same axle size but don't quote me on that... I know for sure it is smaller than 25mm as I had to bore the wheel to fit a 25mm CBR1000RR axle when building my streetfighter. SEBSPEED
Check Honda microfiche for front wheel bearing ID comparison. Good chance spacing in calipers will be correct as the fork spacing is the same, but be prepared to shim calipers and rotors to align properly on center. Member Contributer VFROZ Posted November 10, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted November 10, 2018 SP1/2 wheel uses 22mm axle. It is the odd one out of honda wheels. But you can get bearings to fit smaller or larger axles. Attached is an info sheet I put together, I'm sure it is accurate but you might need to double check. Member Contributer JZH Posted November 12, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted November 12, 2018 The RC36's fork spacing is approx. 22mm narrower than the SP2's fork spacing, so unless the latter's wheel is 22mm wider (or the discs have radically less offset), that ain't gonna work. And that's ignoring the axle/bearing problem... Ciao, JZH
