VFR80025th
Hi Guys, went out on my early morning ride and noticed my digital speed indicator is all over the place. Not accurate at all. Does anybody know what the reason could be. 2007 VFR with 28000kms or 17500 miles. Battery after a week of not riding was at 12.6 Volts. I check it with a Volt meter every 2 weeks. (Yesterday) Any help or guidance of what it could be would be appreciated. I was about 60 km away from home when I noticed and it made me nervous. LOL. Thxs in advance. Member Contributer Duc2V4 Posted September 15, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted September 15, 2018 Sounds like the plastic coupler between the sprocket nut and speedometer sensor is worn. Easy and cheap fix. https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/motorcycle/2007/vfr800-ac-interceptor/speedometer item #
Member Contributer TheLimey Posted September 17, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted September 17, 2018 ^what he said. Mine started behaving very erratically and I found it wasn't actually worn out, it had just been pushed on to the flat shaft a little too far and was slipping on the front sprocket bolt head that it drives off. Simply wiggling it down the shaft a little so it engaged with the sprocket bolt properly and normal service was resumed.
