Member Contributer Grum Posted September 5, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted September 5, 2018 Very nice indeed, one sexy lady. Agree with you on the black or white wheels. A better looking exhaust wouldn't go astray.

sdouble
Am I the only one to consider that that painting looks so 80's ? In my opinion it does not fit with the RC79 modern style.

It doesn't look better in those colours, there again they could have chosen better tones, washed out red and insipid blue are not good choices

The colours are almost certainly the same as used on the RC30. Ciao,

Member Contributer VFROZ Posted September 5, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted September 5, 2018 I've been wanting to like this paint scheme on the newer VFRs for a long time. I tried many variations in Photoshop for my 5G, but it just doesn't work. In this case the old paint scheme that worked so well on the RC30 just doesn't suit the angular lines of the 8G. Probably why Honda never repeated it on any other new bike.

mikeswe
With a white VFR the paint scheme can easily be done with wrap foil instead of paint. This is what I did on a ZX6R, tank and front mudguard was silver and fairings green.

mikeswe
Are there any fairing kits for 8th generation VFR? https://ultimatefairings.com/40-vrf800 I like the Rothmans kit:
mikeswe
Here's something for you to drool over. A bike dealer in Stockholm Sweden bought this RC30 and just let it sit in the box until this day, it is never used.
Member Contributer Bent Posted September 8, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted September 8, 2018 The 8th gen,. muffler itself should be illegal for being so hideous. Reminds me of one of the reasons I ditched mine. It alone makes the bike uglier than any kind of paint job.

Riding isn't a beauty contest, and the stock exhaust is nice and peaceful 😄
Member Contributer MaxSwell Posted September 8, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted September 8, 2018 Lets see ... sharp loud exhaust or cleaner air and less noise pollution. Hmmmm. I guess I choose clean as possible. And I do know that to stand behind my running fifth gen is to smell bad air. And it's big on noise pollution. But I do keep the engine/exhaust stock and would if I bought an eight gen.
