Quetepasa
My 98 doesn't have fairings or a dash. Correct me if I'm wrong but a 6th gen dash looks less bulky than the 5th gen and I was hoping I could fab some brackets and use that instead of an aftermarket on and doing all the rewiring. Any info would be great. My chinese aftermarket one that came with the bike is a wiring nightmare, I would have trial and error all of the wires, because there is no clear color coding or English instructions. Member Contributer KevCarver Posted June 26, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted June 26, 2018 Plugs are vastly different. Not saying it's impossible if you decipher the wiring diagram to figure out where the wires all go and cut and splice them into the 6th Gen plugs. But Plug-n-Play definitely not. Quetepasa
So is my next best option something aftermarket? Like a trail tech vapor or koso?
keef
I'm using an acewell with a separate koso coolant temp gauge on my 5th gen fighter.
Halfrider
Wiring diagram can/might make anything possible, I've had some good and not as good luck with small Chinese speedos.
Member Contributer JZH Posted June 28, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted June 28, 2018 Compare wiring diagrams to spot any obvious problems, and I doubt there's anything plug-n-play, but you might have some luck with the gauges from another late '90s-early '00s Honda sportbike, e.g., CBR929, 600F4i. Cheap on eBay, sometimes... Ciao,
