Hey all,

I bought a 1988/89 VFR750F rear wheel, but it was assembled after getting painted at some point in it's life missing the inner rear wheel bearing spacer, the one that is inside the wheel.

1986 or 1987 VFR700/750 or 1984 VF1000F.

Anybody got a junk wheel to source the spacer?

I couldn’t pinpoint the part you were looking for on servicehonda.com.

When it comes to anything bearing/spacer, I find the folks at allballsracing.com extremely helpful.

Good luck

Yep.  I'll have a VF1000F wheel apart soon to do bearings, so I'll measure the spacer if my search turns out to be fruitless.

The right aluminium alloy would be, almost certainly. Even a piece of 6XXX-T5 series stock round bar  will probably be OK. Keep an eye on it to see if it deforms when everything is tight.. However if the rear wheel departs at speed, I accept no liability 🙂

Yes. All the big manufacturers seem to think so too. 2-3mm wall is normal, depends on what the ID of the wheel hub is. Most have tabs cast in which help to maintain the tube's concentricity.

Not a good part to find missing!  Mainly because it's unavailable from Honda and any you do find will be inside wheels...  But CMS has one.
