Member Contributer N2v Posted February 25, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted February 25, 2018 Hi guys I’ve been noticing every time when I start the bike, like the morning or it’s been parked out for a good while , I hear a like a clunking tapping noise, sounds horrible . But when it gets to temperature the sounds, goes or even when I rev it up the sound goes away, after a cold start it goes on 55000k’s full service completed valves checked out to be fine. It’s worrying any suggestions would be grand.

Sweeper
My experience with cam chain tensioners is that they make noise after the bike warms up.
Member Contributer N2v Posted February 25, 2018 Author Member Contributer Share Posted February 25, 2018 I use to commute to work around about 60km a day for 5 days straight. then I got relocated to close to home which now takes about 5 km return , it’s very very rare that I get out of 3 gear, you think that can cause these issues? Hi N2v. As stated it is most likely a CCT that needs replacing. NO NEED TO STRESS. This is a common issue with a 6gen that's done your amount of kilometres. You will need to listen closely as to which pair of cyclinders the noise is coming from, hopefully it's the rear as this is the easiest CCT to replace, the front requires a bit more work. Do a bit more searching on the forum, you'll find heaps of info regarding CCT replacement. Good Luck fellow Victorian. Cheers.
