Sikorsky
Does anyone know of a ready made insert in order to do cat removal? I thought I had seen one somewhere but haven't been able to find it again. Thanks
Member Contributer Marsman99 Posted January 30, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted January 30, 2018 Try these guys: http://www.jetex.co.uk/custom-exhaust-parts/ Google " vfr1200 cat removal" for plenty of discussion on the subject.
Sikorsky
Thanks Marsman. I did the search to begin with, just not detailed enough I guess

Sikorsky
Thanks Ghostrider but je ne parlez pas the francais. I've tried repeatedly using Google translate and the search forums but no luck. Right now I'm stuck trying to get the pipes off, heat and penetrating oil in play, soon to bring the rubber hammer and wooden plugs.

Member Contributer RC1237V Posted February 6, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted February 6, 2018 From VFR88: Y-Piece Jetex REF U905145/R is almost a perfect fit. I was suprised that there is very little change in sound level. I measured it before and after with a mobile phone app to give an idea. It didn't see any difference. The note is a little different (lower). From ZAWA: It will have to be welded in I used a JETEX pipe model U905145R, it does take some fitting but is very close. I ordered it from Jetex in England and was about $70 total cost. Sorry, forgot how to link old posts....computer illiterate......
Member Contributer RC1237V Posted February 6, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted February 6, 2018 Wow, looks like it is much harder to find now. All the ebay units are not available....maybe call Jetex and order the ss (stainless) version, not the as (aluminized steel) version. Looks like these guys have it...... https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/jetex-y-stainless-2-x-1-75-x-1-75-u905145r
