Member Contributer Skids Posted December 27, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted December 27, 2017 I am replacing the c&s on my 2015 Crossrunner (same engine as 8th Gen). The engine is a development of the 02-13 6th Gen Vtec and I replaced the c&s many times on my 08 model so figured the replacement procedure would be the same. Both the 8th Gen & 6th Gen Service Manual says that the clutch fluid should be drained and the clutch hose oil bolt & washers should be removed before removing the clutch slave cylinder to access the front sprocket. I never drained the system on the 6th Gen so can I assume I don't have to drain it on the 8th Gen/Cr?
Member Contributer Mohawk Posted December 27, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted December 27, 2017 Skids AFAIK the slave cylinder setup is the same, if you did 6th gen then you know you need to use a clamp to hold the slave cylinder piston in the unit or the contact spring will force it out. So keep the slave cylinder in place, undo the 3 bolts, remove & apply the clamp.

Member Contributer Skids Posted December 27, 2017 Author Member Contributer Share Posted December 27, 2017 Chain & sprockets fitted but is there a torque value for the 6 bolts that hold the rear sprocket on? Can't find anything in the service manual.
