Member Contributer Terry Posted July 2, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted July 2, 2017 12 N-m for the springs. What do you mean by the clutch plate cover?
Ekalb
12 N-m for the springs. What do you mean by the clutch plate cover? Thanks Terry. The cover that encloses the gears & clutch that I have to remove after draining the oil.Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
Member Contributer Terry Posted July 2, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted July 2, 2017 I don't think there is specific torque for all those bolts; the generic fastener setting in the manual is 10 N-m for a 6mm flange head bolt. BTW, you don't have to drain the oil for a clutch plate replacement, if the bike is on the sidestand the oil level is below the opening. Member Contributer VFR Capt.Bob Posted July 3, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted July 3, 2017 How many miles did the last clutch last?
Ekalb
Bout 30k. It has been difficult to catch in 1, 2 & 3rd. Figure its time being 15yrs old.Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
Member Contributer rhoderage Posted July 3, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted July 3, 2017 Measure your springs while you are in there... I also have an 02 with about 40k miles and 2 of the springs were below service limit. Replaced with Barnetts for ~$
