Member Contributer auggius Posted May 24, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted May 24, 2017 I've used Plastifix to make the multiple pieces that is the 4th gen tailsection into a single unit. I know to use coarse paper to start and work to finer grades. Do you use a sanding block or just the paper by itself? I did the latter before but I couldn't get a smooth finish. It always felt like a bump where the repair was. So what's the proper sanding technique to get an even, smooth finish? Any tips appreciated. coupedupsubie
I did the same thing a year ago. Use a sanding block to smooth out the seams to the rest. As far as grit, start on the finer side (600 or so) and go down until you find one that works for you. You will probably not get the best surface for painting. I recommend UPOL Gold, it is a light filler that bonds with plastic very well.
