Member Contributer Skids Posted May 9, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted May 9, 2017 I'm struggling to remove the spud from my Akrapovic end can on my '15 VFR800X Crossrunner. I've removed the retaining screw but the spud refuses to move. I've tried pliers but all they do is mark the metal. Is there some kind of magic to get it out or am I being a numpty? Any useful advice appreciated. Cheers.

jhenley17
It might bend the internal end of the baffle (I assume that's what we're talking about here) slightly, if at all, but I'm guessing it'll pop right out.
Member Contributer Conedodger Posted May 9, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted May 9, 2017 I use one weekly to remove the spuds on my autocross car. No issues, they just pop out. Might depend on how long the spud has been in place.
Member Contributer Skids Posted May 9, 2017 Author Member Contributer Share Posted May 9, 2017 8000 miles. It's a little expensive to buy one of those just to pull a spud out though, but thanks anyway.
jhenley17
You could probably rig up a similar tool sufficient enough to get them out.
