ScottSturgis
Can you put in a clutch master cylinder rebuild kit with the m/c still on the bars? Mine is cleaned, flushed, bled and working, but seems to be leaking a little. The Allen head bolts are stuck tight and starting to round out. It looks like I can install a rebuild kit in place. Possible?
TheDutchy
I gues you can, allthough getting that circlip that holds the piston and spring in place can be tricky... Whilst you have to bleed the whole system again, and the risk of having brake fluid drip on precious painted parts, you might be in better control to take the MC off the bars and make the rebuild a bench job. Also gives you a better visual on cleaning the piston area and getting the spring/piston and seals in right.. Juist a thought..
Member Contributer Captain 80s Posted March 26, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted March 26, 2017 Sounds to me like it's the time to do the job right. Take care of the bolts now. Take the handlebar off with the master cyl and make everything easier. Plus you're not around painted parts as mentioned above. Brake fluid is evil.
