My first post here - Hi everyone

Seriously considering buying a VFR800 this weekend, I'd be getting back into motorcycling after a number of years hiatus.

Just curious - how old are the owners of the VFR?

Welcome Aboard! I'll be 51 this April and no plans on quitting anytime soon. Grab that VFR while you can.

BTW, I could have sworn someone told me that you were sleeping with the fishes...?

Something about a 40th High School reunion!? Ack!

Sleeping in front of the fish tank is better than sleeping in front of the TV. Ummm.......

LucaBrasi - that is one of the best screen names on VFRD!

You still sleeping with the fishes?

Seems I'm too young to vfr, may have to trade it for a Duc  for a few decades  :goofy:

Bought my VFR at 22... I have to be one of the youngest ones here.

Maybe I should get a Tuono instead, is that a young mans bike too?

I am 63 and a VFR rider. But I also ride a Ducati 748 and a BMW R1200RS and a Tuono, so not sure what the results mean . . .

OK - I admit to being the last to get it - what is the meaning of LucaBrasi? Does it have to do with Luca Cadalora?

As to thread topic - I'm 52 and 11/12ths. As our president would say: "fifty-two plus plus plus"

Old enough to know better

Young enough not to care

Following the totalling of my VFR, I bought a RC51-SP2...  :-)

RIP redslut...

Sfdownhill, you in South Africa? Cause that's pretty much how Zuma counts, worse actually...
I'm 49 at present, was off bikes for too long, VF750 project, but might have to get something in the interim...VFR

It must be something to do with riding bikes... that's exactly the assessment I came up with.. (Actually only 54 and 3/4!) :goofy:

Thanks for the welcome!

And thanks so much for the responses, really enjoyed the comments, and it solidified my hope that I wasn't too old for the VFR.

I'll let ya'll know if I pick it up tomorrow or not.

SFDownHill - Luca Brasi was (The Godfather film) mafia boss Vito Corleone's personal enforcer. A little known fact - in the 1972 film Luca was played by Lenny Montana, who in real life, was a bodyguard in the New York Colombo crime family.

As Mark Twain said, "The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated!"

Hey Africord -

I know from your sig that's an 02 and I'm looking at a 2014, but do you have bar risers on your bike? Pegs lowered?

Your seating position looks just right.
