Member Contributer mk2davis Posted March 30, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted March 30, 2016 I've taken up the hobby of giving some attention to a older neglected bikes. Of course, part of this process is replacing hardware that is either missing or worn. I am having a heck of a time finding M4 and M5 speed nuts (also called clip nuts, spring nuts, U nuts, etc.). Any one have a good source for these?
Member Contributer MadScientist Posted March 30, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted March 30, 2016 Not sure what exact fasteners you are looking for, but http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/is where I (and many of us) get replacement well nuts for a much more reasonable price than OEM. They have a fairly large selection so you might find something that works for your particular application. Otherwise, OEM is always an option if the parts are still available or in production. Member Contributer mk2davis Posted March 30, 2016 Author Member Contributer Share Posted March 30, 2016 I've looked at that site, fastenal, boltdepot.com (which has great prices otherwise). The closest I have found is from McMaster Carr, but they are rectangular and not square, and don't quite look OEM..
